Great Buddha Temple

The temple was formerly a Buddhist lecture hall in the lane of wen'anli, Renai District, Keelung City. Master Kaishan puguan became a monk with his mother when he was young. He made a great wish. After searching many ways, he chose the top of Zhongzheng park. In 1969, the Grand Buddha was unveiled and presided over by Yin Shun. The temple is built by the Buddhist temple of Tang Dynasty. The building is four stories high. It contains the main hall, Yuantong hall, Buddhist lecture hall, Maitreya hall, Guanyin hall, Liuli hall, Gongde hall and Zen room. The scale

The Great Buddha temple covers an area of more than 500 mu, more than 400 years ago. In 1935, the new Fifth Division of jihongchang division of the northwest army used the Dafosi temple as its barracks, which was still empty. It can be seen from the scale of the ancient temple that most of the temple products were destroyed by the Japanese war around 1943, leaving only a little remnant wall and some Buddha statues. The relics include a hundred year old stone tablet of the Great Buddha Temple and a seven treasure Tathagata terrace.

Reconstruction period

In 1995, the Great Buddha Temple was rebuilt.
