historical origin
Nanan pagoda is named after the temple. Nan'an temple was once a famous temple in Yanyun with a long history. It is said that it was founded in the Han Dynasty and is suspected to be built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. The pagoda is located in the center of the temple for people to visit. From the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Liao Dynasty, the temple was full of incense. When Weizhou city was built in 580 (the second year of Xiangxiang in the Northern Zhou Dynasty), Nan'an Temple already had a large scale.
Therefore, there has always been a legend of "Nan'an temple first, and then Yuzhou City" in Yuxian County. According to the records of Yuzhou annals, the pagoda of Nan'an temple was built. In the early years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, the commander Zhou Fang demolished and built Yuzhou City. Because of the large scale of the pagoda, the newly built south wall and moat were passing through the temple, so the temple was abandoned and the pagoda was preserved. The dense eaves brick Pagoda in China began in the Northern Wei Dynasty, but the practice of the first layer of the Nanan Temple Pagoda with the horizontal banner hanging down for one week first appeared in the Liao Dynasty. According to the analysis, the Nanan Temple Pagoda should be built in the Liao Dynasty.
According to 1706 (45 years of Kangxi), the pagoda of the ancient Nan'an temple was built in the Han Dynasty It can be seen that it has a long history.
Nanan temple was built in 1706 (the 45th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty) on the only mu of land under the pagoda of Nanan temple. The pagoda is a courtyard with a width of 17.4 meters from east to west and a length of 24 meters from south to north. Nanan guita is located in the southeast of the temple. There are three main halls in the courtyard, with one Zen room on each side of the main hall. The west side of the tower is a stele tower, in which there are two stone tablets rebuilt in Qing Dynasty.

Each layer out of the overlapping astringent eaves, tile top, no doors and windows. There is a bronze mirror inlaid in the middle of the four facades of each floor.
