Yindu water town, located in Xinhua Village, is a national 4A scenic spot integrating natural scenery, history and culture, ethnic customs and crafts. With Yindu as the highlight and water town as the feature, the scenic spot has become a business card for the development of tourism industry in Dali Prefecture. It is the largest ethnic handicraft processing base and tourist commodity distribution center in Southwest China, and is one of the most potential tourist attractions in Yunnan.

Xinhua Village was named "the hometown of Chinese folk art" by the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China in 2000

"Chinese folk culture village"; in July 2001, it was rated as national 2A scenic spot by National Tourism Administration; in 2004, it was named as "civilized unit" by Yunnan provincial Party committee and government; in August 2006, it was rated as one of the top ten famous towns in Yunnan Province; in December 2009, it was announced as national 4A scenic spot by National Tourism Administration.

Xinhua Village is 128 kilometers away from Dali ancient city in the south, 39 kilometers away from Lijiang in the north, and 12 kilometers away from Lijiang Airport. There are 1157 households and 5280 people in the village, of which the population of Bai nationality accounts for 98.5% of the total population; 1062 households and 4779 people are engaged in the processing of gold, silver and copper traditional ethnic crafts, accounting for 92% of the total households and 93% of the total population respectively. In 2010, Xinhua Village received 2.35 million tourists, with a total tourism income of more than 1 billion yuan.
