Henan Xinxiang Yellow River Wetland Birds National Nature Reserve is located in Fengqiu County and Changyuan County in the east of Xinxiang City, Henan Province, with a total area of 22780 hectares. Historical evolution

In 1995, with the approval of Henan Provincial People's government, "Sanmenxia Reservoir Wetland provincial nature reserve" and "Luoyang Mengjin waterfowl wetland provincial nature reserve" were established successively in Sanmenxia and Mengjin sections of the Yellow River wetland. In 1999, the people's Government of Henan Province approved the establishment of "Luoyang Jili wetland provincial nature reserve". Through the establishment of provincial nature reserves, the ecological environment of the Yellow River has been preliminarily improved. The relatively good ecological environment of the Yellow River has attracted more and more rare waterfowl to breed, stop and overwinter. In order to better protect the Yellow River wetland resources, under the coordination of Henan Provincial Forestry Department, it is decided to apply for the establishment of national nature reserves on the basis of the above three provincial nature reserves. In June 2003, the State Council approved the establishment of Henan Yellow River Wetland National Nature Reserve.

Henan Xinxiang Yellow River Wetland Birds National Nature Reserve is located in Fengqiu County and Changyuan County in the east of Xinxiang City, Henan Province.
