It is the former residence of Zhang Xun, the "braid commander" who tried to restore by force during Yuan Shikai's reign as emperor, for Wang Keqin, the former Peking opera star of his third aunt. Built before 1914. The courtyard is composed of two independent buildings, in which magnolia, gingko and other trees are planted. European eclecticism style apartment building, tower slightly Russian style, solemn style. After Zhang Xun died in 1923, he became the office address of the Qingdao Branch of the YMCA and was used to run a church school. In the early 1950s, it became Qingdao No.12 Middle School. In 1957, it was Qingdao Youth Training Institute. During the cultural revolution, it was the residence of Qingdao red guards Congress. After the cultural revolution, it was changed into Qingdao No.5 Middle School. Later, the building was transformed into Qingdao Institute of education, now a hotel.
