Qiantan Miaowang cave is one of the four Miaowang caves in Fenghuang, Western Hunan. It is about 0.7km away from Shanjiang Town, and is endowed with a strong mysterious color by the local Miaowang people. The road into qiangu is very bad, but on both sides of the valley there are ancient green trees, gurgling streams, pleasant birds, and beautiful natural scenery.
The name of "Miao King cave" comes from the fact that long Yunfei, the last generation of Miao king in Western Hunan, once lived here. After the failure of the Qianjia Miao uprising army in the Qing Dynasty, they hid here and made use of the unique topography of the mountains and rivers to separate one side. According to local conditions, they designed the layout of military attack, hiding, escaping and so on. After several months of encirclement and suppression, the Qing army was still unable to capture it, so it had no choice but to withdraw its troops. Later, the bandits also took advantage of the unique mountain shape and terrain here, so it had high military research value and tourism value.

brief introduction
The name of "Miao King cave" comes from the fact that long Yunfei, the last generation of Miao king in Western Hunan, once lived here. After the failure of the Qianjia Miao uprising army in the Qing Dynasty, they hid here and made use of the unique topography of the mountains and rivers to separate one side. history
In 1795 (the 60th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong), more than 300000 Miao people in Western Hunan and northeast Guizhou jointly discussed and revolted against the national oppression policy of the Qing Dynasty and the massive loss of land. They put forward the slogan of "expel the Hakkas and reclaim the land of Miao". They attacked the Qing army strongholds, recaptured the cultivated land, and severely punished the bandits and landlords who committed crimes. However, under the attack of the superior forces of the Qing army, the rebel army finally failed. Some of them retreated to Tianxing mountain, Miaowang cave and other places. Relying on the geographical advantage of "easy to defend but difficult to attack", they persisted in resisting until 1807, which lasted for 12 years. In addition to the Qianjia Miao uprising, there were many uprisings against oppression in the history of the Miao people. It can be said that a history of Miao nationality is a history of Miao compatriots' struggle for a better life.
There are some small earth guns, guns and ammunition at the entrance of "Miaowang cave", which are the witness of history. Entering the cave, stalactites form a variety of scenes: some are like birds and animals, some are like stalagmites and jade pillars. Inside the cave are displayed ammunition, grain, weapons and copper coins left over from history. There is also a "commanding platform" in the cave, which is the place for commanding soldiers and commanding generals. On the "dianjiangtai", there is a clear spring. According to sister Ma, the spring water is available all the year round. Whenever there is drought or water shortage, people in the stockade will come here to carry water. We picked up the bowl and tasted it. The spring was very cool. In the cave, we also saw many strange shapes of animal and plant fossils. Sister Ma said that they found them when they dug a new cave. Geologists and archaeologists would be interested in this.
"Miaowang cave" is very important to the stockade. In the past, the "elder brother" and "younger sister" in the stockade used to come here for dating. When it comes to the love affairs of Miao people in Xiangxi, they also have their own characteristics. The local people call it "catching up with the frontier and the frontier". During the fair or festival, Miao A-Mei and a-Ge will walk together in groups. Whenever a young man sees his sweetheart, he will pull her sleeve, give a hint to the girl, and sometimes "beg" for food from her sweetheart. If a girl is willing to associate with him, she will show it. In addition, the two sides will exchange gifts and sing folk songs.
