Repairing history
There are two ways to climb Wuyou mountain, one is by water and the other is by land, which is from Lingyun mountain to Mahao cliff tomb exhibition hall of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the other is from Leshan City by boat down the river to the south foot of the west of Wuyou mountain.
Wuyu temple is located on the top of Wuyu mountain, formerly known as Zhengjue temple. It was founded in the Tang Dynasty and was built by master Huijing, a famous monk in the Tang Dynasty. At present, jiemao Pavilion is built on the top of the mountain, which is called "jiemao place of Shangren in Tang Huijing". It is said that when Cen Shen was a governor in Jiazhou, he had a close relationship with Huijing. He wrote the poem "on the peak of Qingyi mountain in Jiazhou, the title of Huijing's secluded residence is sent to Yang Langzhong of the Ministry of war", which says "all mountains are small, three rivers are vast. If LAN opens to the west, Emei is just the same. Birds and apes enjoy the chime of bells and the fragrance of pines. It can be seen that Wuyou temple had been built at that time. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhengjue temple was changed to Wuyu temple, which was famous for its mountain. Wuyou temple was destroyed by wars twice in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Most of the existing buildings were built in the late Qing Dynasty and modern times.
In 1984, it was handed over to the Buddhist community for management and use. The monks established the Buddhist Association of Wuyou temple in Leshan City, with master Puneng, the abbot of Wuyou temple, as its president. With the support of relevant departments, according to the actual situation, Wuyou temple has formulated a series of rules and regulations and management measures, such as "Trial Provisions for religious activities", "temple management system" and opening to the outside world, security, fire prevention and anti-theft, so that each monk has clear responsibilities and participates in temple management while engaging in religious activities. With the strong support of the government and all walks of life, Wuyou Temple spent a lot of money to renovate the main hall, and the Luohan hall and other buildings destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution" were also restored.
In the middle of the gate of Wuyou temple, there are three big characters: "Wuyou Temple". The couplets on both sides are as follows: the gate of the temple is high, the Dongting field is open, and the cliff is half into the Yuntao pile. There are inscriptions such as "farewell island in Qingyi", "Ciyun" and "Fayu" on the mountain gate, which make the atmosphere suddenly solemn and quiet.
The entrance to the temple is the temple of heavenly kings, with four new statues of heavenly kings. Passing through the Tianwang hall, facing is the Mituo hall, which stands on the Shendao road beside the cliff of Minjiang River. It was built in 1920 and stands on the cliff with different styles. Inside, there is a 5-meter-high statue of Amitabha. It is made of clay and gold standing on the end of the body. Holding the gold platform in the left hand, it means to receive and lead all living beings, also known as receiving and leading Buddha. The three characters of "Da Xiong Bao Dian" were written by Huang Yunhu, a famous calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty. The door and window panels of the hall are carved with Chinese classical flower patterns, which are exquisite and unique. They are reflected with the plaque of "majestic leading source", "seeing the source of Tao" and various couplets on the hall columns, which are more elegant and gorgeous. In the middle of the hall, there are three Buddha statues of Sakyamuni, Manjusri and Puxian, each of which is 4 meters high. It is made of Cinnamomum camphora wood. The whole body is covered with gold. The clothing patterns are natural and unrestrained, and the expression is kind and solemn. It has the style of Tang Dynasty statues. Outside the hall, there are octagonal bell pavilions and drum pavilions with double eaves. The hanging bell in the bell tower was cast by Yongle Nianwen in Ming Dynasty. The wing room on the left of the hall is now a cultural relics exhibition room, displaying nearly all kinds of cultural relics from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty.
At the back of the main hall is the Tathagata hall, which was rebuilt during the Tongzhi period in the late Qing Dynasty. It has a double-layer structure, and the upper layer is the Tibetan scriptures. There are about ten thousand volumes of "Pinjia Tibetan scriptures" and "Japanese continued Tibetan scriptures". On the two braces in front of the hall, there are sculptures of Lingyun mountain and Wuyou mountain, exquisite and exquisite. In the center of the hall, there are five Tathagata statues, representing the five directions of East, South, West, North and center. On both sides are 24 statues of Dharma God and 18 clay statues of arhat, with humorous expressions and actions.
At the end of the west corridor on the right side of the Tathagata hall is the Guanyin hall, which was rebuilt in 1925. The statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the hall is 3 meters high, beautiful and graceful. At the end of the East corridor on the left side of the Tathagata hall is the Abbot's room. The Abbot's room is a small courtyard, quiet and elegant. There are many inscribed tablets and couplets on the four walls. Among them, the poem by Zhang Fang, a famous scholar in the Song Dynasty, describes the momentum of Wuyou mountain: the bamboo bridge, the sand water, the Wuyou River, the isolated cliffs and the arrogant spirit. So he and Ling Yun sat in half, and the monk saw Jinjiao in the window. On the west side of the Tathagata hall is the famous eryatai, which is said to be the place where guosheren annotated Erya in the Han Dynasty. On the right side of the platform, there are four big characters "mainstay" written by Gu Rushi of the Ming Dynasty, with a diameter of 5 meters. A view of Wuyou.
