Jimo ancient city
Jimo was first recorded in the Warring States policy and historical records. It was a famous city of Qi in the spring and autumn and Warring States period. The county was set up in the Qin Dynasty, and the city was built in the Sui Dynasty. The allusions of Jimo's officialdom, Tian Dan's breaking Yan, Tian Heng's 500 scholars, and Guo Xiu's Sanshu made Jimo famous in the history books. Jimo county government moved to the current site in 596 ad, which has a history of more than 1400 years. As a kind of urban "Reconstruction", Jimo ancient city project, which was born in the transformation of shantytowns, has become an important witness of the historical and cultural evolution of Jimo.
Historical situation
During the Warring States period, Jimo stood firm in the east of Qi, facing linziyao in the West and boasting of its wealth. The brilliant achievements of doctor Jimo and the amazing "Yiming" of king Qi Wei made Jimo famous all over the world. Later, Tian Dan took advantage of this lonely city and skillfully used the fire ox array to defeat the Yan army, which further improved the popularity of Jimo. Qin ruled the country and implemented the "county system", that is, Mo was designated as a county; however, this new thing seemed to waver in the ensuing chaos of changing dynasties. In the early Han Dynasty, Liu xiongqu, the grandson of Liu Bang, Gaozu, was granted the title of "king of Jiaodong". After that, Liu Che and Liu Ji, the sons of Liu Qi, were also appointed here. Since then, six or seven princes of Liu's family have been sitting in the feudal land of Jiaodong king, and their power covers most of Shandong Peninsula. Jimo County, also known as the capital of the country, has become the political, economic and cultural center of Jiaodong. Wang Mang was "new" for a while, and Jimo was renamed "Jishan", but this new name was soon banned with the collapse of the new mang regime; of course, the old name of "Jimo" was restored with the restoration of the throne of Liu.
Jimo has too many stories, too much accumulation and too heavy burden. Even the name "Jimo" is thought-provoking. Jimo is known as "Jimi" or "Jimei" by local people in Jimo. Even foreign friends often learn to pronounce "Jimi" or "Jimei" to show their familiarity with Jimo. So, why did Jimo get its name? According to historical records, "the name of Jimo is derived from water; Jimo has been established for a long time, and the analysis of its combination and dispersion varies from generation to generation; the combination of mountains and sea does not change its routine." It turns out that the name of Jimo first appeared in the historical classics such as Warring States policy, national language and historical records. It got its name because the old city (located in dazhumao village, Guxian Town, today's Pingdu City, where Tiandan poyan is located) is adjacent to the ink (originated from Gumo mountain, Pingdu City, today's Zhudong River). The names of mountains and rivers are very common in Chinese toponymy, and Jimo is no exception. "Namely" refers to proximity and nearness; "Mo" refers to the ink river.
During the Shang and Zhou dynasties, Jimo was under the jurisdiction of Laiyi. In 1046 B.C., after King Wu of Zhou destroyed the Shang Dynasty, he established a state, and the western part of the city was the fief of Yi state; in 722 B.C., "Ji Ren felled Yi" (Ji state was in the southeast of today's Shouguang City, and the ancient city site of Yi state was in the ancient town of today's Lancun town). In 567 BC, after the state of Qi destroyed the state of Lai, Zhu Mao, a senior official of Qi, began to build Jimo City, which is located in dazhumao village, Guxian Town, Pingdu City. Later in the Warring States period, Jimo was very prosperous, which can be compared with Linzi, the capital of Qi. After the Qin Dynasty ruled the country, the county system was implemented and Jimo was designated as a county. At that time, Jiaodong Peninsula was Jiaodong County, the center of which was Jimo. In the Western Han Dynasty, Jiaodong county was divided into Jiaodong state and Donglai county. Jimo was managed by Jiaodong state. Jiaodong has eight counties, namely Jimo, Changwu, Xiami, Zhuangwu, Yuzhi, Ting, Guanyang and zoulu. As the "capital of the country", Jimo City has naturally become the political, economic and cultural center of Jiaodong. During the 700 years from Qin and Han Dynasties to the northern and Southern Dynasties, the establishment of Jimo County remained unchanged despite the constant changes of dynasties and wars. In the Song Dynasty, Zhuangwu county was abolished and merged into Jimo county. At the end of the northern and Southern Dynasties, a major historical change took place in Jimo. In 556 ad, Jimo county and Buqi county system were abolished and merged into Changguang county (now Pingdu City). Just 25 years later, the Sui Dynasty was established. In 596 A.D., the county system was restored and rebuilt. The territory of Jimo county includes the former three counties of Zhuangwu, Gaoyu and Buqi, including the current four districts of Jimo City, Laoshan District, Chengyang District and Qingdao. The ancients paid great attention to the choice of county governance. The new site of Mo county is located at the foot of mengwang mountain. The huaishe River in the south of the city is a small river in the south of the old city. It originates from malanling and flows into huaishe River in the north and south of Shipeng reservoir. Later generations used to call huaishe River Mohe (officially named in 1986). The establishment of this county administrative region and county governance continued for more than a thousand years from the end of Sui Dynasty to the end of Qing Dynasty. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Jimo experienced another major historical change. On November 14, 1897, Germany occupied the sea area and part of the land in the south of Jimo County under the pretext of Caozhou religious case. In 1898, the Qing government was forced to sign the "Treaty of concession between Jiaozhou and Macao", which reduced the total area of Jiaozhou Bay, 100 Li around Chaoping and the total area of land and sea The area of 1128.25 square kilometers (including 551.75 square kilometers of land) is designated as "jiaoao concession", including the area south of Baisha River in Jimo county (most of Renhua Township, part of Liren Township and Fuhai township). Since then, Jimo has lost her "Nanxiang" and the most promising place, which was later the urban area of Qingdao. In 1935, the Nationalist government included the eastern part of Laoshan, which was then under the jurisdiction of Hairun Township, Jimo County, into Qingdao. The stars have changed and the sea has changed. On May 26, 1949, Jimo was liberated. Jimo county was assigned to Qingdao in October 1957. In 1961, the five communes of Jimo County, namely Chengyang, Jihongtan, magezhuang, Hetao and yindao (today's red island), were assigned to Laoshan County, forming the present urban context. In 1989, Jimo City became a suburb of Qingdao. On October 30, 2017, Jimo City was abolished and Jimo district was set up.
In 596 ad, the Sui Dynasty began to enter the construction period after the regime was stabilized, so Jimo County, which was once abolished by the former dynasty, was restored and rebuilt. The county has stridden more than 40 kilometers from the original site to the southeast. The determination of this new city site must be the choice of a person with outstanding experience. Even from today's point of view, it is a very good location: it is close to the mountain for grazing, the coastal area for fishing and salt, thousands of hectares of good farmland in the west, the rivers around it, the water quality is good and the water source is abundant. Since then, a new Jimo City has appeared here, and a new historical load has begun. The long growth of years records its experience. By 2096, it will be the year of 1500 years old.
In November 1897, Jimo experienced another major historical change. The German aggressors suddenly invaded Jiaozhou Bay and occupied the sea area and part of the land in the south of Jimo. In March of the next year, they forced the Qing government to sign the Treaty of concession between Jiaozhou and Macao, and designated the land as "paradise", in which they enjoyed various privileges. At that time, the "paradise" was called "concession between Jiaozhou and Macao", including Today, the area south of Baisha River in Jimo district. There is no doubt that this area has been cut off from the territory of Jimo District, which is the most promising place. This place is Qingdao city later. Today, Jimo district is one of the satellite cities in the north of Qingdao. Therefore, today's territory of Jimo county can be described as follows: it is located in the south of Shandong Peninsula, 120 ° 07 ′ - 121 ° 00 ′, 36 ° 18 ′ - 36 ° 37 ′; it is adjacent to the Yellow Sea in the East, Qingdao and Laoshan in the south, Laixi City in the north, Jiaozhou City and Pingdu City in the west, Laiyang City in the East and North, covering an area of 1780 square kilometers, 36 kilometers in length and 76 kilometers in length; it governs 10 towns 20 townships and 1033 administrative villages.
