Historical evolution
In the seventh year of Xiankang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (341 AD), Murong Shuo of the former Yan Dynasty attacked Koguryo in two ways, burning its palace and destroying the capital of Bolu. During this period, Koguryo still had the opportunity to build a city in Daheishan. At the beginning of the 5th century, wars were frequent in the Central Plains, Murong's power was declining day by day, and the Koguryo regime took advantage of the gap and expanded to the southwest.
After 410 A.D., the influence of Koguryo occupied Liaodong Peninsula. At this time, the construction of the castle in Daheishan was completed. "Sui Shu · biography of laihuye" states: "in the 10th year of Daye (614 AD), (laihuer) crossed the sea again and went to Beishe city. The whole country of Koguryo came to fight, and Huer was defeated and decapitated a thousand times.". "Beishe city" in the book refers to Daheishan mountain city. Volume 182 of Zizhitongjian also records the war in the 10th year of Emperor Yangdi's great cause.
In the 19th year of Zhenguan (645 AD), Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty appointed Zhang Liang, Minister of the Ministry of punishment and Duke of Yun, as the general manager of the Daoxing army in Pyongyang. Shuaizhoushi crossed the sea in Donglai of Shandong Peninsula and landed at the southern end of Liaodong Peninsula. After attacking Beisha City, he captured thousands of people in Koguryo "In May, we have already pulled it out and won 8000 men and women." it can be seen that there were thousands of troops and horses stationed in Beisha city at that time. In 645, the Tang army recovered Liaodong, and in 668, it destroyed Koguryo.
From the 1950s to the mid-1980s, Daheishan mountain city was seriously damaged, but fortunately it still exists.
