Yangming Park, Yangmingshan, formerly known as Caoshan, was changed to Yangmingshan in 1950 according to the name of Ming Dynasty philosopher Wang Yangming. The mountain is located in the north of Taipei, 16 kilometers away from Taipei. It is a saddle shaped platform formed by the intersection of the southern foot of Qixing mountain, the highest peak of Datun mountain, and Shamao mountain, with an altitude of 443 meters. Yangmingshan Park was built in May 1986, covering an area of more than 11000 hectares, including Yangmingshan and the volcanic group centered by Datun mountain and Qixing volcano. In 1950, according to the name of Ming Dynasty philosopher Wang Yangming, it was changed to Yangmingshan. The mountain is located in the north of Taipei, 16 kilometers away from Taipei. Yangmingshan park is one of the large-scale natural parks. The climate here is mild, without severe cold and heat. The scenery is different throughout the year. Especially in spring, rhododendrons and cherry blossoms are blooming all over the mountains. There are plum blossoms, camellia, peach blossoms, plum blossoms, apricot blossoms and so on. Visitors linger among them, like a picture mirror. This is the "spring of Grass Mountain" in the past, and today's Yangmingshan flowers Ji Shengjing. The best time to enjoy the flowers in Yangmingshan park is from February 21 to April 5, which lasts for one and a half months. As many as 2 million people go up the mountain to enjoy the flowers.

geographical environment

Datun mountain is located in the Datun volcano group, with an altitude of 1090 meters. Up to now, there are still volcanic remains. When spring comes, cherry blossoms are blooming all over the mountains, and the green trees and grass complement each other. Rhododendrons of various colors dot the spring scenery, which is more colorful and dazzling. The spring scenery of the whole year is in this mountain. Therefore, "Tatun spring scenery" is listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan. Qixing mountain, the main peak, is named after seven small round peaks on the top of the mountain. According to research, it erupted 300000 years ago, and the Geothermal Gas and sulfur gas still come out. When the sulfur gas reaches the periphery of the spray hole, the temperature gradually drops. After cooling, it becomes yellow needle like sulfur crystals, which are crystal clear and transparent. Those with thick color are like yellow gold, which is called "fool's gold". In the valley, the light red, yellow, white and black volcanic rocks formed by the magma ejected during the eruption of the volcano can be seen everywhere, which is spectacular.

Beitou is located in the southwest of Yangmingshan Park, surrounded by mountains on three sides and adjacent to Tanshui River in the south. It is famous all over the world together with Japan's "tangsiyuan" and is known as the "hometown of hot springs". The water quality of Beitou hot spring is acidic and contains a lot of hydrogen sulfide. The spring temperature is mostly 40-68 ℃. The temperature of hell Valley spring is as high as 90 ℃. It can boil eggs. Since the Japanese occupation, it has been a famous hot spring resort in the province.

Species distribution

Yangmingshan park has more than 1200 species of plants, 59 species of birds and 130 species of butterflies, some of which are unique. In the early 1980s, leek was found near Dream Lake, which is the lowest latitude species in the world. It has great research value in botany. It has been designated as an ecological reserve.
