The former site of China Customs in Dalian is the only Gothic building left in Dalian. It is now a cultural relic protection unit in Dalian.
Located at No.86 Renmin Road, Zhongshan District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China, the former site of China Customs in Dalian was built in 1914 and is now a cultural relic protection unit in Dalian city. In 2002, it was listed in the first batch of key protected buildings in Dalian. The former site of China Customs in Dalian is the only remaining Gothic building in Dalian, which is characterized by two blockhouse towers. After the completion of the building, it became the customs house of the Qing government and the government of the Republic of China in Dalian, the leased land of Japan. Dalian customs began with the "agreement on the establishment of Dalian customs and inland river steamship navigation" signed by the Qing government and Japan on May 30, 1907. On July 1, 1907, Dalian Customs officially opened and closed. On June 25, 1932, after the puppet government established Manchuria, Japan changed the customs to Manchuria. In August 1945, after the Soviet Red army defeated the Japanese army and obtained Dalian, the sovereignty of Dalian Port Customs was returned to China. After 1949, this building was the office building of LvDa shipping company. Now, the former site of Dalian China Customs is the office building of Liaoning Foreign Trade Light Industry Company.
