Located in Zhuanghe City, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, Haiwang Jiudao is a marine landscape nature reserve, which was established in August 2000.

The geographical coordinates of the reserve are 123 ° 02 ′ 31 ′～ 123 ° 06 ′ 39 ′ E and 39 ° 25 ′ 16 ′～ 39 ° 31 ′ 09 ′ n, with a total area of 2143 hectares. Among them, the buffer zone covers an area of 1682 hectares within 500 meters of the coastline of dawangjia island; the core zone covers 200 meters of the coastline of dawangjia island and the surrounding reef landscape; the other eight islands cover an area of 461 hectares.

Haiwang Jiudao is a national Island Forest Park, a provincial scenic spot, a municipal key tourist scenic spot and a natural landscape reserve of Wangjia Town, Zhuanghe City, Dalian. Located in the eastern border of the motherland, the north of the Yellow Sea, the northeast end of the Changshan Islands, across the sea from North Korea, South Korea and Japan. The geographical coordinates are 123 ° 2 ′ 13 ″ - 123 ° 06 ′ 23 ″ E and 39 ° 25 ′ 32 ″ - 39 ° 30 ′ 49 ″ n. It is 12 nautical miles from Zhuanghe River in the north and 60 nautical miles from Yalu River Estuary in the East.

It is composed of 9 islands including dahaiwang Island, Shoulong Island, xiaohaiwang Island, Shuangshi Island, Yuanbao Island, jingwa Island, Haigui Island, Guanxiang island and tuanyuan Island, and 6 large-scale open reefs. The land area is 6.93 square kilometers, the total length of coastline is 34.2 kilometers, and the sea area is 380 square kilometers.

It has 4 administrative villages, including Dongtan, lintuan, qianmiao and Shoulong, and 22 natural villages. There are more than 10000 permanent residents.

Historical development

There are also many relics of historical research value in Haiwang Jiudao. As the region is adjacent to Korea, South Korea and Japan in the East, it is an important national defense area of China. As early as the Jiaqing period, wanghailou mountain on the island was a beacon tower to observe the invasion of Japanese pirates. Up to now, the beacon tower site and the alarm clock weighing several hundred jin are still in good condition. The famous Sino Japanese naval battle of 1894-1895 also took place in the east of Haiwang island. Nowadays, xiaohaiwang island still keeps the anchor piles where Japanese ships berthed in the naval battle at that time. There are also the international lighthouse built by Japanese aggressors in 1938 and the shipyard dam built on the island in 1942.

Among the nine islands of Haiwang, Wangjia island is an important place of Chinese military strategy and a must for military strategists in the past dynasties. It has a large number of ancient and modern coastal defense relics. At the east end of Yuanbao island is the famous bird watching platform. Water islands in the Yellow Sea can be seen here. Reunion Island and Guanxiang island are the territory of egrets. At low tide, egrets go to the seaside in pairs to catch small fish, shrimp and crabs. At high tide, egrets fly away and squat on cliffs, branches and grass to have a rest. Once they are frightened, they fly up. It's not "a line of egrets in the sky", but a piece of egrets that can't see the sky. It's very spectacular.

Once it is found, it rushes down and picks it up like an arrow. The long pointed mouth is not only powerful, but also a weapon to resist invaders. Especially in the spring, when the eggs are hatched, the female squats and the male guards can watch. If they want to approach, they will pounce on you impolitely.

Ducks occupy caotuozi and cileng reef. The sea duck is very good at diving. It takes five or six minutes for a diver to show his head.
