Qilingta
Qiling pagoda was built in Daming Temple as early as the first year of Renshou (601 AD) of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty. The pagoda is nine stories high, and the bones of Buddha are worshipped in the pagoda. This burning monk's words of great enlightenment are called "qilingta". Unfortunately, in the third year of Huichang, Emperor Wuzong of the Tang Dynasty (843 AD), one generation of relics turned into scorched earth.
In 1980, the statue of master Jianzhen came back to visit relatives, and people in the valley advocated the reconstruction of the qilingta. In 1988, master Ruixiang, the abbot of Daming Temple, selected the site of the East Garden of the temple, rebuilt the Qiling pagoda and laid the foundation stone. After the death of master Ruixiang, master nengxiu presided over the work of Daming Temple. Drilling was started on August 27, 1993. Before long, the qilingta will be displayed in the world with unprecedented new appearance.
In the Song Dynasty, song Xiang was the magistrate of Yangzhou during the reign of Baoyuan (1038-1040 A.D.), and wrote in his poem "climbing Daming Temple Pagoda" that he climbed the pagoda with sick feet. It can be proved that qilingta existed in the Northern Song Dynasty. Or reconstruction after destruction. Record this for reference.
