Jiangsu Gaoyou wenyoutai, built in 976, was originally Dongyue palace. It is also recorded that it was built in Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty, and most of the existing buildings were rebuilt in the 19th year of Jiaqing. According to the records of Gaoyou Prefecture, Su Shi of Song Dynasty once lived in Gaoyou, where he drank with the virtuous Wang Gong, Jun Ren sun Jue and Qin guanzai. At that time, the prefect completed the gathering with a group of sages, and Yan riwen visited Taiwan. Since the Song Dynasty, this scenic spot has been attracting scholars from all over the world to visit ancient China. In his poem wenyoutai, a poet of the Song Dynasty wrote that "in memory of the past, when Poxian traveled here, all the characters were romantic, and the fragrant water shield and purple crab served as a drink, and the colored pen and silver hook served as a reward for singing.".
In history, wenyoutai has been promoted and abolished many times. In the Southern Song Dynasty, Wang Chen lived in Chunxi, Wu Zhu lived in Jiatai, Zhang Ge lived in Kaixi, Hu YaoYuan lived in Zhengde of Ming Dynasty, Wu Zhijun lived in Shunzhi of Qing Dynasty, Zeng Maowei lived in Kangxi, and Zhang Ge lived in Jiaqing
