Yulin stone Buddha Temple is located in Chenjiagou village, Baijie Township, Hengshan District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the center of 12 counties in the north and south of Yulin city. It is only 18 kilometers away from Yulin City in the north and 10 kilometers away from Yuhe Town, Yuyang District in the South.

The ancient stone Buddha Temple is back to the mountain and facing the water. It covers an area of 400 mu and is one of the places for learning and worshiping Buddhism in Yulin city.

Development history

The existing grottoes are the ruins of the original temple. The grottoes, Yungang Grottoes and Maijishan grottoes are stone Buddha statues of the same period.

The original temple was submerged in the sand by the flood until the 1990s, when the villagers opened a mountain to pick up stones at the top of the grottoes. Explosives rang, and a cave was found among the rocks. The cave is located in the middle of the cliff. It is square, 1.48 meters wide, 1.47 meters deep, and 1.68 meters high. Three Buddha statues are carved on the main wall of the cave, two at the entrance of the cave are heavenly kings, and six on the left and right are bodhisattvas. The lips of the Buddha are red and bright It's 1600 years ago. It's also one of the earliest stone sculptures found in Yulin.

Master Huicheng, a native of Sichuan Province, was a teacher of the first Meiji elder of Puji temple in Putuo Mountain in 1990. He became a monk after shaving and became a monk. He inherited the lineage of Linji Buddhism of old monk Jinghui. In April 2005, he came to northern Shaanxi to promote Buddhism and was employed as the abbot of the temple by the Local Religious Bureau. In front of the Sutra Pavilion is the main hall, which is 39 meters long, 29 meters wide and 18.8 meters high, and can accommodate about 1000 people at the same time. In front of the main hall is the heavenly king hall, and in front of the heavenly king hall is the release pool, with a small bridge in the middle Tianhuayuan square is the entrance to the temple, with a stone tablet with a total height of 5.25 meters and a double plate faucet and turtle shaped base inside the gate Pavilion; out of the gate, the next step is the entertainment square and the parking lot for tourists, with a stage, archway, cross section carved Scripture tablet and other buildings.

In the South and north sides of each hall, there are a ridge bungalow, a small kitchen restaurant and a rest room; the three storey complex building where the office and the squatter house are located is located in the south of the Sutra Pavilion; in the south side of the main hall is a Sihe Courtyard, in which there are two storey buildings, which are the squatters, reception hall and reception room of the permanent monks;

On the north side of the main hall are two rows of bungalows and small halls; on both sides of the front courtyard of the main hall are pedestrian corridors and bell and drum towers; on the north side outside the courtyard are believers' reading rooms; on the south side outside the courtyard are French Logistics Office (room), kitchen, Zhaitang, food storage room, cooking staff dormitory, and sundry storage room.

South of the garden square is the Meiji elder's memorial tower;

To the East is the seven story blissful tower, which is 2 meters high, 28 meters high, and 6 meters high. The total height is 36 meters. It is a square imitation of the ancient tower.

In the middle is a three-dimensional image of Guanyin, which is 9 meters high (like 6 meters high, 3 meters rosette) and 4 meters wide;

In the north is the pagoda, which was built in 2012. Taking Putuo Mountain Pagoda in Zhejiang Province as the prototype, the pagoda carries the statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in different shapes, which is the second Pagoda in China;

In the south-west corner of the north, a small false Stone Mountain hall is also built. The temple and all the residents are willing to raise funds. We sincerely invite 1420 statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to sit in each hall.
