Kuiwen Pavilion is a wooden structure building. "Kuixing" is one of the twenty-eight constellations. There are sixteen stars, which are like a picture of words. Later, people evolved it into the head of civil servants. The feudal emperors compared Confucius to the Kuixing in the sky, so Confucius was also called "civil servants of all ages".
The pavilion is 23.35 meters high, 30.1 meters wide and 17.62 meters deep, with triple cornices and four layers of brackets. Its structure is solid and reasonable. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi, there was a big earthquake in Qufu, where "nine houses in the world exist, one in the world exists". However, Kuiwen Pavilion stands upright and safe, which shows the wisdom and superb architectural art of the ancient working people in China.
Kuiwen Pavilion
Kuiwen Pavilion in Qufu, Shandong Province, is one of the three main buildings of Confucius Temple. It was built in the second year of Tianxi of Song Dynasty.
In the second year of Jin Mingchang's reign (1191), the pavilion was expanded with five rooms and three eaves. In the 12th year of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty, it was expanded into 7 rooms with 3 eaves. In the 13th year of Qianlong reign, Gao zonghongli inscribed a plaque. Kuixing is one of the twenty-eight constellations in ancient times. In the main article, the ancients compared Confucius to Kuixing in the sky, so it was named after it. Kuiwen Pavilion is the collection place of ancient emperors' books and ink. Its unique architectural structure is also one of the famous pavilions in ancient China.
Kuiwen Pavilion in Dushan consists of Mountain Gate, attic, Xixiang room and one ear room. It has two courtyards, with Guanyin, Confucius, Guanyu and Kuixing tablets inside. It is a place for scholars to worship Kuixing God. The other purpose is "private school school", which is specialized in cultivating rural students. It covers an area of more than 850 square meters and is 25 meters high. The pavilion has a close structure, beautiful shape and fine carving, which retains the artistic characteristics of architectural carving in Qing Dynasty. Its ancient architecture is the only one in Southern Guizhou.
The existing building is 24.35 meters high, 30.10 meters long and 17.62 meters wide, with yellow glazed tile roof in Xieshan. The structure is reasonable and firm.
Kuiwenge was first built in the second year of emperor Tianxi of Song Dynasty (A.D. 1018) and named "library". Jin Zhangzong changed its name to "kuiwenge" when it was rebuilt in the second year of Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1191). Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty re inscribed the plaque. "Kui" is the name of the star, one of the twenty-eight constellations. In the west, there are 16 stars at the head of the white tiger, which are "buckled and hooked, like a painting of words". Therefore, the book of filial piety is called "Kui master's article", and later generations evolved Kui (Kui) star into the head of civil service. In order to praise Confucius, the later feudal emperors named the library of Confucius Temple kuiwenge.
Kuiwen Pavilion is 23.35 meters high, 30.1 meters wide and 17.62 meters deep. It is located on the top of huangwache mountain, with triple cornices and four layers of Dougong. There are two layers in the interior, with a dark layer in the middle. It is a laminated structure. Dougong is applied on the bottom wooden column, and then the upper wooden column is erected on the Dougong. The structure of kuiwenge is reasonable and firm. Since it was rebuilt in the 17th year of Hongzhi of Ming Dynasty (1504 AD), kuiwenge has experienced hundreds of years of ups and downs and many earthquakes. Although the earthquake in Kangxi period made Qufu "nine houses in the world and one in the world", the solid circumstantial evidence of kuiwenge is still intact, standing upright, worthy of being one of the famous ancient wooden buildings in China One. The stele in the pavilion on the west side of the pavilion, which records the earthquake in Kangxi period, is a strong circumstantial evidence of Kuiwen Pavilion. There are two stone tablets under the corridor in front of the pavilion. In the East is "kuiwenge Fu", written by Li Dongyang, a famous poet in Ming Dynasty, and written by Qiao Zong, a famous calligrapher. In the west is "kuiwenge reset book record", which records the situation of the Ming Dynasty Zhengde emperor ordering the Ministry of rites to rebuild the book collection.
