geographical position
500 meters south of the main gate of the Confucius Temple in Qufu, and to the west of Dacheng Road, there is an outstanding high-rise building surrounded by perforated flower walls. That is the Confucius Research Institute, which was completed in 1999.
Nature of organization
Confucius Research Institute is a research institution approved by the State Council. It has five functions: literature collection, information exchange, academic research, personnel training and Museum exhibition. It is planned to become the world center of Confucius thought research. The gate of the courtyard faces east, and there are three rooms. Under the eaves, there is a gold plated bronze plaque of "Confucius Research Institute". Although the plaque is not signed, it can be seen that it is inscribed by President Jiang Zemin.
Hospital layout
Apricot altar
On both sides of the gate, there are 36 apricot flowers. Confucius has 3000 disciples and two sages. Needless to say, the apricot tree is a symbol of 72 sages. Through the gate, at the foot of the red granite or horizontal or vertical paved Yong Road, a line of round white marble inlaid in the middle of Yong Road, a closer look, it turned out to be the pattern of ancient jade. Confucius is an ardent inheritor and advocator of ancient culture. He highly praised the culture of rites and music in Zhou Dynasty, and rites and music became an important part of Confucius' thought. The designer carefully thought, in such an ordinary channel also carved such a heavy traditional cultural symbols.
East and west square
Across the stone bridge, facing the two square shot and stand, East Square title "Zhidao according to virtue", west square title "Yiren entertainment". The allusion comes from the Analects of Confucius, "Confucius said," to be determined by Tao, to be guided by virtue, to be guided by benevolence, and to be guided by art. "Confucius taught people by this, and we should be guided by it.
Memorial Gateway
The archway is the entrance of the central square, and beyond it is the piazza. Square, 80 meters square, north of the main building overlooking, East, West, South Corridor enclosure.
Piyong
In the middle of the square is a circular platform, surrounded by a pool of water in the outer and inner circles, which is named Biyong because the water is "choked around like a wall". Biyong is also a ritual building, which symbolizes continuous education. Only the school of the emperor can be set up, and the school of local princes can only set up a semicircular pool. So what we see in ancient schools (Confucian Temples) all over the world is panchi. Only in Guozijian, Beijing, can there be Biyong. Since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty adopted Dong Zhongshu's proposal to "depose all schools of thought and respect Confucianism alone", Confucius thought has played a positive role in a long history, promoting the consolidation and development of a multi-ethnic unified country, promoting the development of national culture and economy, and making China one step ahead of the western industrial revolution
