Sand gathering tower
Jusha pagoda, formerly known as "jusha Baifu pagoda", is located at the Bank of Hupu pond, East Street, Meili Town, Changshu City.
It was built in Shaoxing of Southern Song Dynasty. It has seven floors on eight sides and is more than 20 meters high. It is a brick and wood structure imitating wooden tower and pavilion. In 1995, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. In the Qing Dynasty, the eaves and top of the pagoda were destroyed, and the body of the pagoda was gradually dilapidated and inclined. In 1993, the municipal and town governments completed the rectification and righting project of the tower body, in 1997, they completed the comprehensive restoration project, and in 2000, they basically completed the construction of the tower garden project. It has seven levels and eight sides. The tower room is square and has no tower center. The bottom floor is opened in positive direction, and four doors are opened in each layer above it. Above the second floor, the wooden waist eaves and flat seats are raised, and the secondary steps on the ground floor are circumscribed. It is a brick wood mixed structure Pavilion tower. It is 32.83 meters high and 4.12 meters on the opposite side of the bottom layer. Each side of the outer wall is divided into three rooms with columns. In the Ming Dynasty, a door is opened or a false window is hidden. The tower rooms on each floor were changed by 45 degrees, and the doors and windows were staggered. The eaves of the pagoda were built in Song Dynasty, which was popular in the south of the Yangtze River. The lower part of the outer wall of the ground floor is carved with brick xumizuo, while the lower part of the flat seat is carved with Yongding column. In 2013, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Meili, a millennium old town, has been an important transportation hub in the east of Changshu since ancient times. It is known as the "18 towns of Dongxiang, the first town of Meili". Jusha pagoda is a famous landmark Pagoda in the town. Jusha pagoda, known as "jusha Baifu pagoda", is located in the East tip of meiliji Town, near Changhu river. Meili is located on the beach of the Yangtze River. As the treasure of Zhenjiang, the sand gathering tower is called "sand gathering tower" because of the strong tide. According to historical records, this tower was built by Qian Daozhe, a native of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1131-1162). In October 1991, the people's Government of Changshu listed jushata as a municipal cultural relic protection unit. In April 1995, it was listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit by Jiangsu Provincial People's government. In May 2013, it was approved as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.

There are seven levels on eight sides of the sand gathering tower. The body of the tower is a solid brick wall. The room of the tower is square. The bottom floor is open in a positive direction. There are two doors and two windows on each floor. Above the waist eaves flat seat, the lower level has a secondary step circle, wing angle up. There are floors and escalators in the tower, which can spiral up to the top of the tower. It is a pavilion type brick wood mixed structure imitating a wooden tower. There were two ancient ginkgo trees in the north, higher than the pagoda. After the temple collapsed, there is still a ginkgo tree. The tower is surrounded by wasteland ruins. Since November 1986, the people's Government of Meili town has built a farmers' Park in accordance with the pagoda. The park is named "jusha garden" after the ancient pagoda. The name of the park was written by Wang Jifu, the former Vice Minister of culture. After several years of construction, it has reached a considerable scale.
In November 2000, "the shadow of Gathering Sand pagoda" was rated as one of the new "Eighteen scenes of Yushan".
