Built in the middle of Tang Dynasty, the temple was originally called Jishan nunnery. At that time, incense flourished and pilgrims spread all over the south of the Yangtze River. In 1107, the first year of Jianyan in the Southern Song Dynasty, it was founded in Desheng, a monk in the western regions. It was called Jishan nunnery at that time. After the Yuan Dynasty, the soldiers invaded, the land was desolate, the monks scattered, and the nunnery was abandoned. In 1610, master Xinguang rebuilt Jishan nunnery. After master Xinguang died, master Xingquan revived Jishan nunnery as his own responsibility. He raised money to repair it, restored Yitian and preached everywhere, which made all the believers in the four directions pay homage to it. This nunnery flourished again. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, this nunnery was restored again and renamed "Wanglu nunnery", which means that there were officials and nobles who had stayed here, so there is still guanjing bridge and guanjing river. Later, it was said that Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty went down to Jiangnan to find his father. He stayed here for one night, so he changed his name to Huangluo nunnery. In 1918, Shi Beilin, a villager, renovated the temple, and sent a notice to the governor of Wu County and Wu Qichang, warning the public: "please note that this nunnery belongs to a historic site and should be preserved. Martyr Shen Juying and his son martyr Lu Yi were called "mother and son heroes" by the Suzhou military division. Changde's apprentices were arrested in Xiangcheng police station and died one after another within three years. Shi Xuezhen, wife of martyr Lu Yi, also took part in the party's underground work after her husband and mother-in-law were killed. He made great contributions to the Anti Japanese work in Suzhou. During the cultural revolution, even the Guanyin hall was destroyed. Later, with the help of the local residents, they built three small houses and invited a Buddha statue, which has been preserved to this day. In 1995, with the support of people from all walks of life in Suzhou and the local government, master Shanglong xiaxue (from Fengqiao, Suzhou) raised money and successively built the Tianwang hall, Guanyin hall, western three saints hall, Jialan Pavilion, miaofe bridge, and monks' houses, which were renamed "Huangluo Temple".
