Former site of Nanjing Investment Promotion Bureau

The former site of Nanjing Merchants Group is located at No.24 Jiangbian Road, Xiaguan, Gulou District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, China, between Zhongshan wharf and laojiangkou wharf, near Xiaguan station.

The building was built in 1947 and designed by Yang Tingbao. It faces the East and the west, and faces the Yangtze River in the West. It is a four storey building with reinforced concrete frame structure. It is also used as a waiting hall and office building. The bottom floor is for ticketing, waiting for ships and warehouse. The middle two floors are for business office and dormitory. The top floor is for telegraph, telephone and club. The appearance imitates the ship shape to show the characteristics of water transportation buildings. Now it is a branch of Nanjing Port Bureau, and repair has been started.
