Taiwan's famous mountain and ski resort is known as Taiwan's "snow country". Nantou County is located in the northeast and Hualien County at the junction. Located at the junction of Nantou County and Hualien County, it belongs to the middle part of the central mountain range, including the main peak, East peak, West Peak, South Peak, north peak of Hehuan, Jianshan mountain, Shimen mountain, North Mountain of Shimen and other peaks with an altitude of more than 3000 meters. The mountains are magnificent and powerful, and the mountains are beautiful and colorful. It has the reputation of "typical mountain". The longest rivers in Taiwan, such as chuoshui River, Dajia River, Dadu River and Liwu River, all originate here. There are precious red cypress, Xiao Nan and other trees growing in the mountains. They are dark and blue, and midsummer is like autumn. The main peak of Hehuan mountain, 3394 meters above sea level, is the coldest area in Taiwan. There are many primeval forests in the mountains. With an area of 457 hectares, the Hehuan mountain forest park is mainly composed of Hehuan peaks and Shimen mountain, with high mountains and steep valleys, Fargesia grassland and fir forest, creating a magnificent and charming alpine forest style. The forest and grassland landscape of Hehuan mountain, which is composed of Yushan Fargesia and fir forest, is different from the general forest recreation area. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of Hehuan mountain peaks and alpine grassland from Wuling, the highest point of Zhongheng highway. The beautiful mountains and the sunrise, sunset and sea of clouds of Hehuan mountain are all the favorite atmospheric landscapes for tourists. The mountain top with few lights has become the best place to watch stars at night. The wonderful astronomical phenomena such as Leonid meteor shower, Baiwu comet and lunar eclipse often attract astronomical friends to rush up the mountain to wait all night. Songxuelou has become a base for tourists to experience the snow scenery of mountains, grassland flowers and night stars.

In spring and summer, the forest recreation area of Hehuan mountain greets visitors with a piece of green alpine grassland. The green Fargesia grassland turns into a stage for alpine flower exhibition, which makes the suite of Alpine flowers more moving. From May to September every year, flowers bloom in high mountain group, which is also the most beautiful time of Hehuan mountain. The colorful flower sea scenery of Hehuan mountain is paved by Rhododendron, Rhododendron rubrum, yushanxiao, baizhushu, Lilium formosanum, yushansha, Dianthus, baihuaxiangqing and the most beautiful autumn Polygonum cuspidatum.

Rhododendron mori (which has been incorporated into Yushan Rhododendron) is mainly distributed in forest recreation areas such as Hehuan mountain, Alishan Mountain, Daxueshan mountain, Taiping mountain and Guanwu mountain. The most spectacular community is in Hehuan mountain area, with white flowers and pink flowers. It is also called Photinia. It grows in 2300-3300m mountain area. The best places to enjoy flowers in Hehuan mountain area are Shimen mountain and Hehuan East peak.

Rhododendron rubrum, with red flowers, is widely distributed in the mountains of North Central Taiwan. However, the large community in the forest recreation area of Hehuan mountain is the most wonderful. From May to June, the north peak of Hehuan mountain stretches continuously, and several mountain tops are conquered by red flowers. Therefore, some people call it Rhododendron rubrum, with the most gorgeous red flowers. It is a pioneer plant in the fire area.

In the Hehuan mountain area after autumn, not only does the tiger stick decorate the mountain with red color, but also some color changing plants such as Yushan Pseudosasa pear and Luanda Sorbus are dressed in autumn. Yushan small, Yushan ground covered centipede and Taiwan strawberry join the ranks with beautiful autumn fruits, as if they want to make up the big area before the arrival of winter snow. In addition to the snow, the people should not miss the flower world of Hehuan mountain.

The beauty of Hehuan mountain is not limited to the flowers and red leaves from spring to autumn or the snow scenery in winter. This green alpine forest grassland is also rich in animal forms. There are many rodents in the mountain area. Weasels, white faced flying squirrels, Taiwan mole, Taiwan vole and alpine white bellied rat all appear frequently. There are also listed conservation of saury and snow mountain grass lizard. Hehuan mountain is also a good place for bird watching. Visitors can easily find rock Wren, golden winged white eyebrow, small winged thrush, grey forest pigeon, Huangshan sparrow, Wenyi thrush, Alishan Robin, wine red rosefinch, etc.

Hehuan mountain is always the headline of winter cold. Snow and crowds are coming. The car line is several kilometers long, just to go up the mountain to see the rare snow scenery.

Main attractions

The snow cover of Hehuan mountain is one of the wonders of the island. Because the terrain is high and it is located in the intersection zone of moist air flow, the cold current strikes in winter, and the water vapor is cold every time, so the snow in Hehuan mountain is flying; and because the hillside is gentle, the snow is covered layer by layer, and the snow in the valley is getting thicker and thicker, and the depth can reach 1.2 meters. The gentle slope under the valley is broad, and the ski path is hundreds of meters long. The "Songxue building" on the north slope of Dongfeng mountain is the best place to enjoy the snow. Folklore

With a total length of 186 km, the chuoshui river is the longest river in Taiwan. It originates from the Hehuan mountain and flows into the plain after the Qingshui River, a tributary of linneihui river. It forms a large-scale delta alluvial fan in the western plain of Taiwan and breeds a rich land. Our hometown is located on this alluvial fan. It is a simple and lovely countryside on the South Bank of the chuoshui river.

Why is the water of Zhuoshui River turbid? According to folklore, there are two golden loach and two golden ducks in the water source of Zhuoshui river. Ducks want to eat loach, and loach wants to hide. They muddle the water in this hiding. This is a myth, believe it or not!

The water of Zhuoshui stream is usually gray black, muddy and turbid. In case of heavy rain in mountainous areas, it turns yellow. When the flood breaks out in the upper reaches of the mountain, it turns brick red. However, it is said that the water of Zhuoshui stream once became clear water. In 1945, the water of Zhuoshui stream suddenly became clear and bottomed out. At that time, it was widely spread among the people, "heaven and earth are about to change, and it is rare for the turbid water to be clear for a hundred years At first sight, it forebodes that something big will happen in the world. Sure enough, on August 15 of the same year, Japan announced its unconditional surrender, ending the Second World War, and chuoshui River returned to its original gray and black color. There are all kinds of strange things in the world, so let's believe it.

Zhuoshui River, located in the north of pengtong Township, is the main lifeline of Jianan plain, the main river of the township and the largest and longest river in the province. It originates from the Anbu of sagujian between the main peak and the East peak of Hehuan mountain. The main stream is about 186 kilometers long, with a drainage area of 4316 square kilometers. The most upstream is Wushe stream, which gathers the water from the west slope of Huan mountain and flows down the longitudinal valley in the direction of north-north-east. Near Lushan Mountain, it converges with talowan stream and flows to Wanda stream, then converges with Wanda stream and Junda stream, then converges with chenyou Lanxi stream and Qingshui stream, and forms a huge alluvial fan on the western coast. Zhuoshui river is rich in flow and sand content. The name of Zhuoshui River comes from the fact that its upstream Danda river carries a lot of sediment, which makes it turbid in four seasons.

Best travel time

In addition to the snow in winter, Hehuan mountain is also a place to visit in all seasons. December to march is the snowy season of Hehuan mountain, April to September is the flowering season of high mountains, and June to July is the best season for bird watching. September to November is the time for maple red.
