Huili White Horse Temple
Baima Temple Park Baima Temple Park was rebuilt on the site of the original Baima temple. Baima was founded in the early Ming Dynasty. The "gods" he worshiped were "Baima general" in Dali, Yunnan Province, and "sunniangniang" in the twelve dynasties of Nanzhao.
history
In the past, it was famous for its long history, unique terrain, unique architecture and beautiful environment. Since the 1930s, it has been designated as "Suburban Park". At that time, it was an elegant affair of officials and gentry to hold a banquet here. In May 1935, when China's first agricultural red army passed through Huili during the Long March, Mao Zedong and the third Legion were stationed in Baima temple for nearly 10 years, which added a glorious page to the history of the ancient temple. The "Cultural Revolution" in 1966-1976 brought misfortune to zima Temple: the temple was demolished, the trees were destroyed, and almost nothing remained.
Culture
After the reform and opening up, the county government has made some measures, such as changing "Temple" into temple, building Buddhist dynasty or place, and reconstructing Baima temple, which have been approved by the provincial and state administrative departments and supported by people from all walks of life in the county. After more than 10 years of efforts, the facilities of Baima Temple Park have become increasingly complete.
When you enter Baima Temple Park, the low-lying place on the right side of the avenue is the original natural pool. The pool water is clean and does not dry up all the year round. It is said that this is the end of Dongshan stone dragon. The sealed pumping house has been built at its source. In addition, five pools with a total storage capacity of 230 cubic meters have been built at the height to ensure the water supply of the whole temple. There is also a "release pool" under the pumping house, which can not only store part of the surplus spring water, but also bring convenience to the believers. Shiti Avenue is divided into three stages, with a total of 99 levels. It runs from the foot of the temple to the top of the temple, with a total length of 495 meters. On both sides of the avenue, there are large retaining walls with a volume of 30000 cubic meters of earth and stone. Ten thousand silver birch, Cinnamomum camphora, emerald cypress and flowers and plants planted in 1995 are now covered with emerald flowers and trees, with a total green area of more than 600 square meters. At the end of the avenue is the main hall. Daxiong hall is the second main project of Baima temple, which has green, infrastructure and cultural connotation. The hall has a net height of 14.95 meters and a construction area of 426 square meters. "White Horse Temple" in front of the hall is written by Zhao Puchu, the late president of the National Buddhist Association and a famous calligrapher. The terrace in front of the hall naturally marks two places around the Buddha platform. On the right side of Taichung's big stone turtle stands the inscription of rebuilding zima temple, written by Xiao Zhipeng, former deputy head of the county CPPCC Committee. Guanyin Pavilion is located on the upper left side of the main hall, with 15 rooms and a construction area of 160 square meters. In addition, there are Mingxuan, Luda tea garden, Qinlou and other construction facilities. Not far down the path on the left side of Mingxuan is the forest of steles. There are 98 calligraphy inscriptions in the forest of Steles along the road, which gather the works of major figures in Huili calligraphy circle, and also a few copies of contemporary celebrity calligraphy. The reconstructed Baima Temple Park integrates religion, garden and culture. It is a good place for tourism and an ideal place for many believers to worship Buddha.
