Former residence of Lei Chang
Leichang's former residence is located in Qianfo Town, Jingyan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. According to records, the former residence of Lei Chang, a cabinet scholar of the Qing Dynasty, is about 500 meters away from Qianfo street. The gate faces west, with mountains on its back and water on its surface. Surrounded by lofty walls, it looks like a castle from a distance. The wall is 4 meters high and 0.6 meters thick, all made of stone, with a circumference of nearly 1000 meters. The former residence covers an area of more than 4000 square meters, with 12 patios and 121 houses.
Construction history
According to the records of Guangxu Jingyan county annals, "Lei Chang is named Xiehe and kuaiting. He was originally from Chu, and moved to Shu from Macheng in the Hongwu Dynasty of Ming Dynasty In the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong, he was granted a bachelor's degree in the cabinet. In 1773 A.D., he returned home with foot disease, and his son Pang Xiao went to the Imperial Academy to support his father. In the spring of the next year, a spring garden was built in front of the house to entertain relatives. There is a pool in the garden, surrounded by exotic flowers and trees. The stone in the pool is the port. The moon Pavilion and Xiangguang pavilion are built on it. The plum grove in Xianglin is a very beautiful view. Famous Yan ya you, solution water lingers, quite accumulates the temporary victory.
It is understood that Leichang's former residence has a history of two or three hundred years. It is the largest and well preserved residence in Southwest Sichuan. Architectural design experts believe that Leichang's former residence is a typical residential building of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Southwest Sichuan with rigorous layout and exquisite wood and stone carving technology, which has great protection and utilization value.
Stories and legends
Leichang's former residence is the place where the allusion of "nine sons and ten Hanlin" is widely known among Chinese people. It's said that Lei Chang's nine sons, who are full of scriptures and brilliant, have become the Imperial Academy, and even his only son-in-law has won the Imperial Academy.

Protection and development
After many vicissitudes, Leichang's former residence has been seriously damaged, which is worrying. Walking into the courtyard, the ash on the wooden door pillars has been mottled, the sewage is flowing in the courtyard drainage ditch, the iron wire is pulled vertically and horizontally in the courtyard, and the clothes hanging on it are swinging in the wind. The patio ground is covered with moss, and the stone surface is carved or weathered or damaged. The pillars, beams and wooden floors of the house are corroded and rotten, and dust and spider webs are everywhere. Most of the hollowed out windows are damaged, but there are still many exquisite carved patterns that can be clearly identified.
Leichang's former residence is withered and dilapidated, which is shocking. Leshan City and Jingyan county are strengthening the scientific protection of the former residence. It is understood that Jingyan county will, in accordance with the national, provincial and municipal regulations and requirements for the protection of cultural relics, follow the principle of "repairing the old as the old" to organize the protection and maintenance, strive to achieve "scientific restoration" and highlight the folk culture of the former residence.
At present, the county's cultural department has compiled the "implementation plan for scientific protection and utilization of Leichang's former residence (Draft)", with an estimated budget of 16.5 million yuan. Leichang's former residence will be built into a museum integrating the tourist attractions of the Ming and Qing Dynasties residential buildings in Western Sichuan, the teaching and research base of the Ming and Qing Dynasties residential buildings in Western Sichuan, the folk custom, agriculture and Salt History Museum in Western Sichuan, and will become a historical and cultural museum with Sichuan characteristics Brand and a bright pearl in Leshan tourism circle.
