Development history
The predecessor of Tashan forest farm is private Yangshan forest farm. In 1894, the Catholic German missionary father Watson built a three storey European style building at the site of the Da'an temple at an altitude of 340 meters, which was used for church and residence. From then on, Tashan was also called Yangshan. Father Hua Desheng was preaching in Baibu village in front of Tashan. He saw that the mountain farm near ta'an temple was surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the springs on two sides converged. The slope was gentle and sunny, and the soil was fertile, so he was suitable for planting trees. On the basis of the original 1500 mu temple land, he bought more than 4000 mu of mountain farm at a low price to set up a forest farm. While preaching, father Watson hired villagers to afforest. In winter, he mainly prepared land and dug tree holes, and also worked on narrow terraces. In spring and summer, he planted seedlings. It did not survive for the first two years. In 1908, father Hua bought 42 carts (handcarts) of Japanese black pine and red pine seedlings from Qingdao. He continued to plant trees with strict quality. In dry weather, he hired workers to carry water for irrigation. Later, he dug a canal from the naked rock on the West Cliff of dahugugou and irrigated it with mountain springs, which enabled 7000 mu of seedlings to survive. From 1924 to 1932, the bandit Liu Guitang set a distance from Tashan, burned, killed and looted, and father Hua Desheng was forced to flee. In the spring of 1932, he commissioned his followers to build about 600 mu of pine forest by direct seeding on the southeast hillside of Liugou and Qingshi Hutong, and the west slope of jiucaiyuanzi.
After the bandits were calmed down, father Hua returned to Tashan and planted 600 mu of Pinus thunbergii and Pinus densiflora forests in yaoshezigou, bamboo garden and talc hillside; hundreds of Larix kaempferi and dozens of Cryptomeria fortunei were planted near xiaohuluya and chive garden; and two species of Populus densiflora were planted near mountain streams. At the same time, 6 Mu orchards were built in front of dahugou, planted with Western pears, apples, cherries, etc.; 5 mu vineyards were built in the East and west of yaoshezigou, planted with European grapes such as rose and sweet water, and American black tiger grapes. The orchard is surrounded by black pine for windbreak. In addition, a garden was built in Xigou to plant bigot, tassel, Ciqiu, Ligustrum lucidum, wisteria, thousand head cypress, etc. He also raised cows, milk sheep, pigeons and made wine. In 1944, in order to avoid the Japanese invaders, huadesheng fled Tashan again, causing serious damage to the forest area. After huadesheng fled, the forest farm was taken over by the people's government, with a total area of 5100 mu, including 3900 mu of suitable forest land and 2600 mu of planted forest. In 1948, it was renamed Yangshan branch of Mengshan forest farm in central and southern Shandong. During the land reform, the forest farm area was expanded to 11000 mu. It was renamed Yangshan branch of Linyi District in 1952 and Yangshan forest farm of Feixian County in 1956. Later, it was transformed into a forestry experimental field, directly under the leadership of the Provincial Department of industry and commerce. In addition to forest protection, it also planted cotton for military supplies. In 1957, the forest farm area was expanded to 55000 mu. In 1958, it expanded to 110000 mu, with three forest areas of matouya, Zijingguan and zhangshuyuan. In October 1959, it was renamed Tashan forest farm in Feixian County. In 1966, it was renamed "anti imperialist forest farm". In 1977, the original name of Tashan forest farm in Feixian County was restored. Since 1980, the "stand density table" has been widely used in forest farms to make the forest density reasonable, the forest form neat and the trees grow vigorously. At the same time, a large number of fast-growing and high-yield tree species such as Larix kaempferi, Pinus koraiensis, loblolly pine, Cryptomeria fortunei and Pinus massoniana were introduced, breaking the previous situation of single tree species. In 1983, the forestry "three determinations" was implemented, with a reserved area of 50000 mu, and four sub regions, Tashan, Niulan, Pingshan and tanjiazhuang, were set up. Since the reform and opening up, cedar, loblolly pine, pencil pine and Eucommia ulmoides have been introduced, making more than 60 high-quality tree species. At the same time, apple, pear, peach, hawthorn and other fruit production has made new development, and the use of small wood to develop processing industry, the forest to carry out breeding cattle, sheep, pigs, rabbits, chickens and other diversified operations, increase income. Tashan is a natural botanical garden. There are nearly 1000 kinds of wild plants. More than 400 kinds of them are used as medicine, including more than 60 kinds of precious medicinal materials. In addition to collecting wild traditional Chinese medicine, the forest farm also cultivated Poria cocos, Ganoderma lucidum, honeysuckle, etc., with an annual output of more than 100000 Jin. It is also the origin of fragrant Curcuma, mushroom, golden needle and other mountain treasures.

extend
Larch plants appeared in Eurasia in the early Tertiary. In the Quaternary, the distribution scope of Larch gradually expanded due to the influence of the temperature drop. Later, with the rise of the temperature in the post glacial period, the distribution area gradually retreated northward and uplifted to the mountain area, and multiplied until now, forming the current distribution pattern. Pollen and cones of Larch were also found in the late Pleistocene strata of Northeast China and North China Plain (such as huma, Harbin, Raohe and Beijing).
1 genus of Pinaceae. Deciduous tree with straight trunk and regular alternate twigs. The leaf, bud scale, stamen, bract scale, pearl scale and seed scale are arranged in spiral shape. The leaves are scattered on the long branch, clustered on the short branch, inverted lanceolate, linear and soft, with a few raised midrib on the upper side, several stomatal lines on both sides of the lower side, and two usually marginal resin channels in the leaves. Monoecious, female and male cones are solitary at the top of short branches; male cones have many stamens, each stamen has 2 anthers, anther chamber is longitudinally split, pollen has no air sac; female cones are erect, ovule scales are small, two anatropous ovules are attached at the base of ventral surface, with a large and prominent bract scale on the back. Cones erect and upward, mature in the current year, usually purplish red when young; seed scales leathery, persistent; bract scales short and narrow, not exposed or slightly exposed, or bract scales longer than seed scales, exposed part straight, curved or reflexed; seeds with membranous long wings, base wrapped by seed wings, seed coat without resin sac. The chromosome number is x = 12.
There are about 18 species of Larix in the northern hemisphere, which surpass the Tropic of cancer in Eurasia and North America, reaching 63 ° to 72 ° 30 ′ n, and the southern line of the distribution area is about 40 ° n. However, in the Hengshan, Wutai, Luliang, Qinling, Hengduan and Himalayas of northern China, it can reach 20 ° 10 'n.
