Ma Xiangbo's former residence, located in Sijing Town, was opened in 2003. The former residence is a private residence of Jiangnan style, which gives people the feeling of plain, simple and elegant. Both sides of the hall are hung with words and related pictures that concentrate Ma Xiangbo's life experience and outstanding contribution, vividly showing Ma Xiangbo's ordinary and great life.

Ma Xiangbo, also known as Jianchang, was born in Danyang, Jiangsu Province in 1840 in Dantu, Jiangsu Province, China

He is a famous educator, social activist, outstanding patriot, founder and first president of Fudan University. Cai Yuanpei, an outstanding educationist, Yu Youren and Shao Lizi, famous figures in the Republic of China, are all his students. On November 4, 1939, he died in Lang Shan, Vietnam. His posthumous works include the anthology of Mr. Ma Xiangbo, etc. Its former residences include Danyang, Jiangsu, Dantu, Songjiang Sijing, Tushanwan, Xuhui, wanyifang, Chongqing South Road, Shanghai, etc.

"Ma Xiangbo's former residence" in Sijing, Songjiang District, Shanghai, also known as Majia hall, is located at No. 358, Kaijiang Middle Road, old street, Sijing Town, Songjiang District, Shanghai. It is a private residence of Jiangnan style, similar to the former residence of Shi Liangcai, founder of Shanghai Shenbao. Ma Xiangbo's former residence in Tushanwan, Xuhui District, Shanghai, is located on the upper floor of Tushanwan Museum at 55 Puhuitang road.

Wanyifang, the residence of his old age, is located at No.41, 205 Chongqing South Road, Shanghai. It is a new style lane with brick and wood structure and Spanish style architecture.
