Tangta

Tang tower is an ancient tower built in Tang Dynasty. In Yuncheng County, Heze City, Shandong Province, on the lower reaches of the Yellow River, stands a towering and simple ancient pagoda, which is known locally as the Tang pagoda, or the barren pagoda, the Guanyin Temple Pagoda, or the Futou pagoda. For thousands of years, the ancient pagoda has become the symbol of ancient civilization of Yuncheng with its tragic and mysterious, lingering numerous moving legends.

Brief introduction of Yuncheng Tang tower

It is said that this ancient pagoda was given by the Jade Emperor to Li Jing, the heavenly king of Tuota, to subdue his son Nezha. Due to the deepening relationship between Li Jing and Nezha, one day, the heavenly king of Tuota broke the pagoda into three parts with his sword and abandoned the gate of heaven. Suddenly, the wind was blowing all around and the sky was dark. After three parts, the base of the pagoda fell to Yuncheng, the body of the pagoda fell to Juye, and the top of the pagoda floated to Wenshan Therefore, the pagodas of the three counties are the same. Only the ancient pagoda in Wenshang is small and has a temple.

Present situation of Tang tower

According to yuncheng county annals, "Guanyin temple tower" is named because it is located in Guanyin temple. The original high seven, built in the Five Dynasties, Tang Changxing two years, it is known as the "Tang tower.". Due to the earthquake and other reasons, the top of the tower collapsed and was abandoned for a long time. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, the top of the tower was broken and looked like an official hat, so some people called it "barren tower" or "Futou tower". The existing pagoda of Guanyin temple has a brick eaves with eight edges and four doors. There are heaven and earth gates on the East, West, North and south sides, and the other four sides are brick carved false windows. The chamber of the pagoda and the top of the Buddhist niche are made of layers of brick bucket arches. The bucket arches are well made, and the layers are closed in. The structure is rigorous, and the arrangement is well arranged, which is of great skill. Even the top of the corridor in the tower is also made of brick bucket arches.

Visitors from the north gate, through the tower chamber to the south wall, along the south wall up to the second level, and then through the tower column turning up to the top. The remnant tower is about 32 meters high and 44 meters long. Although it has experienced wind and rain, it is also eroded. However, its towering and simple style is still a scenic spot. It is surrounded by clear water. In the morning and dusk of summer, thousands of "cloud swallows" fly around the tower. The shadow of green trees and the towering ancient pagoda complement each other in the clear water, just like an ancient landscape painting. It is very spectacular, and it is the crystallization of the wisdom and art of the working people.

Swallow in the barren tower

At dawn and dusk in early summer, thousands of swallows gather and fly around the pagoda. The "swallows in the barren pagoda" has become one of the top ten landscapes in ancient Yuncheng.

It is said that the swallows in the Tang tower are different. They nest in the tower all year round and never land. Therefore, many ornithologists have been attracted to explore the mystery. According to local folklore, Sun Bin, a great military strategist in the Warring States period, was born in gulinqiu, Yuncheng. Because he was attached to his hometown, he turned into a cloud swallow after death and flew back to his hometown, lingering around the ancient pagoda. The swallows in the barren pagoda "don't move to the south in the severe winter, they can't travel when they have feet", and they can't take off when they occasionally fall to the ground, which is the reason why Sun Bin was "punished by bin" and couldn't stand before he died. At the turn of spring and summer, countless insects fly to the top of the tower. From a distance, they look like wisps of green smoke, curling up, becoming the targets of Yunyan's pecking. If you climb on the top of the tower and look to the west, you can see the mirage of the battle between the ancient city of linqiu and sun Pang. This is another landscape of ancient Yuncheng -- Wushi of linqiu. There are many records about this mirage in Yuncheng county annals. Chen liangmo, the magistrate of Yuncheng County in Qing Dynasty, also left the impression that "how can there be a mirage without mirage? In the long run, it's doubtful that it's the steaming clouds".

It is said that in the midsummer of 1893, a huge fireball circled the tower and then quickly fell into the water along the tower. With a loud noise, a steam column nearly 30 meters high was formed. The traces left by the fireball on the tower were clearly visible. However, the smoke like insects disappeared from the tower. Only the swallows of the barren pagoda still fly around the pagoda year after year. Curious visitors climb the tower for countless times to search, but they only hear the sound of swallows, and never see the nest. These phenomena and legends cast a strong mysterious color on the tower of Guanyin temple.

In the long history, Tangta and Yuncheng people share weal and woe. They have experienced the baptism of war, the erosion of time and the attack of flood. For more than a thousand years, people have multiplied and replaced, and more than once they have left their hometown under the threat of military disaster and flood. Only Tangta has always stood on this ancient land and become a symbol of ancient civilization in Yuncheng. Today, the government has invested in the renovation of the Tang tower and built the surrounding area into a "Tang Tower Park". The ancient Tang tower has once again radiated new vitality.

Tangta Park

Tang tower is the soul of Yuncheng in Shandong Province. It was built in the Tang Dynasty of Five Dynasties, also known as Guanyin tower. The park built around the tower is beautiful, which not only cultivates sentiment, but also makes more people understand the culture of Yuncheng. And the park is free for all.

Tangta park is located in the north section of Dongmen street with beautiful scenery. Why is our Tangta park beautiful? We should start from its construction. There are all kinds of fitness equipment built in it for people to go there for exercise; all kinds of colorful tiles make the whole floor smooth and flat, so that you can walk on it with a comfortable feeling; there is also a central lake, the water is clear to the bottom, and all kinds of fish swim freely in the water. Look, on the other side of the lake, there are some white bearded men with fishing poles in their hands, sitting there leisurely, waiting for the fish to take the bait. Tangta, Shanxi

There are seven ancient pagodas in the East hillside of Foguang temple in Wutai County of Shanxi Province and in the northwest taping of the temple. Four of them were built in the Tang Dynasty. They are rare in the Tang Dynasty because of their ancient architectural techniques and special shape. The four towers are:

Extricate Zen master tower

Located in tapingli in the northwest of the temple, it was built in the fourth year of Changqing reign of emperor Mu Zong (824). Square, two stories, about ten meters high. The base is waist binding Xumi type, the body of the tower is hollow, the front side of the tower has a ticket arch (built into a semicircle or arc door), and the upper part of the tower is a stacked caisson. The pagoda has its base, covering the bowl and receiving the flowers. The jewels are gone.

Clean tower without scale

Located in the east of the temple, it was built in the 11th year of Tianbao (752). The pagoda is octagonal in plane, with a waist tied xumizuo. The body of the pagoda is damaged. The white jade statues of Buddha, Bodhisattva and Vajra unearthed in the pagoda are all original works of the time when the pagoda was built. The proportion is moderate and the lines are smooth.

Zhiyuan and Shangta

Located in the east of the temple, it was built in 844, the fourth year of Wuzong Huichang. Octagonal base, built on the round bowl tower body, beautiful shape, West to open the door, tower brake broken. This kind of Tang tower is the only one in China.

Dade convenient and Shangta

Located in the east of the temple, it was built in 795, the 11th year of Zhenyuan reign of Dezong. It is a hexagonal plane, four meters high, with a west facing gate and a damaged Tasha. There are inscriptions on pagodas in the north of the gate, which are well recorded. Before the Tang Dynasty, most of the ancient pagodas in China were round or square in shape, while the hexagonal or octagonal ones were rare, and the pagoda of Foguang temple had this feature.
