It is a comprehensive museum officially established in September 1984. The museum is located on the scenic Longting road in the south of Zaozhuang City.

The architectural layout adopts the combination of Chinese traditional main line guidance method and modern landscape architecture, with yellow glazed tile covering the roof, which is not only interesting but also simple and spectacular.
The gate of the museum is an antique archway building, covered with golden glazed tiles, colorful cornices, white marble inlaid on the forehead, and celebrity inscriptions.
The courtyard wall is a traditional antique building, with green tiles covering the back, undulating and extending, just like a dragon.
In front of the main exhibition building is a green belt with flowers and trees.
The southwest corner is a two-story office building in the shape of a curved ruler, in which there is an office.
The first floor is the cultural relic storehouse, preservation department, photo studio, curator's office, etc.
Second floor reference room, conference room, etc. The main exhibition building covers an area of 3320 square meters and a display area of 2250 square meters. There are nine exhibition rooms.
The gate of the main exhibition building is in the form of imitating the Han que. Two white relief patterns are symmetrically inlaid on both sides. On the right side are the pottery characters of Dawenkou Culture, and on the left side are the wind bird patterns of the Warring States period. The name of Zaozhuang museum is inscribed on the black marble forehead above the gate.
Behind the main building of Zaozhuang museum is a garden with small pools, pavilions and stone bridges. Along the pond, there is a stone Gallery of Han Dynasty portraits, displaying the representative Han Dynasty portraits, stone inscriptions and stone carvings unearthed in Zaozhuang City. Its artistic value and archaeological value have attracted the attention of relevant experts.

Basic Display
The interior of the exhibition room is spacious and bright with a new decoration. Each exhibition room is equipped with a TV monitoring system. The exhibition hall on the first floor is "Zaozhuang historical relics exhibition", and the exhibition hall on the second floor is dedicated to calligraphy and painting. There are 3.3 meters high board walls hanging calligraphy and painting in the hall, which can display more than 300 calligraphy and paintings at a time. Behind the main exhibition building is a small garden with flower walls and moon gates on both sides. In the center of the park, there is an antique corridor Style Stone Gallery of Han Dynasty, which displays more than 60 stone carvings of Han Dynasty. Its contents include traveling by chariot and horse, acrobatics, legends and pavilions. Beside the Stone Gallery, there are ponds, pavilions, curved bridges, mountain bridges, flowing water and green shade. At present, the museum has one general history exhibition and one Han Dynasty portrait stone exhibition. Zaozhuang historical relics exhibition introduces the local characteristics of Zaozhuang's history and culture from the period of Beixin culture to the Qing Dynasty. More than 60 stone carvings unearthed from Han Dynasty Tombs in our city are displayed in the special exhibition of Han Dynasty stone carvings, which vividly reflect the economic and cultural features of Zaozhuang area in the Han Dynasty.
Exhibition hall distribution
The two main exhibition halls on the first floor display more than 200 pieces of pottery, stone and bone wares unearthed from Beixin culture, Dawenkou Culture and Longshan culture, bronze ritual and weapons from Shang and Zhou dynasties, and typical cultural relics unearthed from the old city of Xue state. The East Exhibition Hall is divided into several units: Han, Sui, Tang, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It displays more than 200 pieces of pottery, pottery models, iron ware, Sui Dynasty bronze Buddha statues, bronze mirrors and song and Yuan Dynasty porcelain unearthed from Han tombs.
There is a TV hall in the middle of the second floor, where the audience can watch the video materials reflecting the places of interest and customs of Zaozhuang. The East and west side halls are modern cultural relics exhibition hall and mobile hall.
In the top Pavilion on the third floor, there is a specimen room, which contains all kinds of cultural relics collected by archaeologists from various ancient sites in the city for experts and scholars to study and use.

Zaozhuang museum now has a collection of more than 8000 cultural relics. Important collections include 3.6-meter-long ancient ivory fossils, Western Zhou bronze figurines, Yue inscription Ge, Han Dynasty Shiyang, Eastern Han Jiaping three years monument, Northern Qi inscription bronze Buddha statue, Warring States inscription copper bubble, Northern Qi celadon pan Kou pot, Yuan Baidi black flower porcelain altar, and Dr. Sun Yat Sen's burial coins.
Exhibition of historical relics in Zaozhuang
The exhibition of historical relics in Zaozhuang shows the representative cultural relics of different stages in the history of Zaozhuang from the northern Xin culture to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, so that the audience can understand and know Zaozhuang. The West Hall is divided into "Beixin culture" and "Dawenkou Culture"
It is divided into four parts, namely, "Longshan culture", "Shang culture", "Zhou Culture" and "spring and autumn and Warring States culture".
It's a fine pottery. The finely ground stone tools, exquisite bronze ware and other cultural relics, supplemented by charts, illustrations and photos, make the audience understand the history of Zaozhuang in the pre Qin period at a glance. The East Hall mainly displays cultural relics from Han Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasties, including pottery, bronze, stone carving, porcelain, Buddha statues, etc. With Han Dynasty stone reliefs, ancient city site photos, utensils copies and descriptions, we strive to be lively, and integrate knowledge and appreciation.
Tombs of nobility in Xiaoying state
The special exhibition of cultural relics unearthed from the tombs of the nobility of Xiaoying state, 103 pieces of burial objects of the nobility of Xiaoying state unearthed from Dongjiang village, Shanting District, will be displayed to the public in Zaozhuang museum after systematic arrangement and research by professionals, and minors will be accepted to visit at that time for free.
In the early spring and Autumn period, the excavation of the nobility cemetery of Xiaoying state has deciphered the historical mysteries that appeared many times in Zuozhuan, Chunqiu and other historical books, displayed the splendid ancient culture of Zaozhuang, and obtained substantial evidence for tracing the origin of Yan's surname. It is understood that after the excavation of the nobility cemetery in Xiaoying state, it has aroused widespread concern in the archaeological and historical circles at home and abroad. Some people surnamed Yan from Taiwan came to recognize their ancestors. Among 103 funerary objects unearthed in this archaeological excavation, 24 bronzes have inscriptions. It is of great value in the archaeological history of Zaozhuang. Light yellow will be the main tone of the exhibition hall layout, with different shapes of spotlights in the exhibition cabinet, which not only reflects the noble and elegant classical style, but also perfectly combines with modern technology.
Display of Han Dynasty stone
Han Dynasty stone statues are decorative stone murals carved on the walls of tombs and ancestral halls by Han Dynasty people. Its content includes myths and legends, rules and regulations, customs and other aspects. In terms of artistic form, it inherited the simplicity of painting in the Warring States period, and set a precedent for the style art in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Like the bronzes of Shang and Zhou dynasties, the grotto art of southern and Northern Dynasties, the poetry of Tang Dynasty and the Ci of Song Dynasty, the Han Dynasty stone reliefs have been in the leading position for hundreds of years and have become the outstanding representatives and treasures of Chinese culture and art.
Lishi is one of the main distribution areas of Han Dynasty stone carvings in China. Lishi stone carvings can be roughly divided into two types: one is the celestial world, which describes the fairyland the tomb owner prayed to enter after his death; the other is the realistic picture of the human world, which describes the life of the tomb owner.
Among the themes of myths and legends, the common ones are red bird, three legged bird and double headed bird with GUI in mouth, chicken headed human body, cow headed human body, one Horned God horse, tiger cart, wild goose cart, fox cart, leopard cart, fish cart, dog cart, dragon cart, chariot and horse travel map, and East prince, West Queen Mother, feather man riding dragon, feather man double dragon, etc. In order to ensure the safety of the tomb owner in the underworld, stone relief tombs are often engraved with auspicious animals such as PU Shou Lian Huan, Zhuque, Qinglong, Xuanwu, Baihu, etc. Most of them are engraved on the door of the tomb, which is the sign of the door. The head of the tomb should be the evolution of Taotie, which is engraved on the door of the tomb to exorcise evil spirits. Green dragon, white tiger, rosefinch and Xuanwu are the location gods, whose duty is to defend the four sides and avoid bad luck. In addition to the contents of myths, legends and stories, there are also some subjects reflecting the life of the nobility. In December 2014, Zaozhuang Museum and Inner Mongolia Baotou Museum jointly held the "grassland ancient charm and customs beyond the Great Wall - Inner Mongolia Baotou Museum collection of rock paintings, Thangka, cultural relics exhibition", more than 80 pieces of Inner Mongolia Cultural Relics appeared in Zaozhuang Museum.
