Mengshan

Mengshan is located in the northeast of Jiaxiang County, Shandong Province. It is surrounded by the city on three sides. It has a unique geographical location and plays the role of urban green space park. Mengshan is less than 100 meters high and covers an area of 100 hectares.

Mengshan of Wenchang lake is located in Wenchang Lake Tourist Resort, Zibo City, Shandong Province. It is located on the Northeast Bank of Wenchang lake, 162.5m above sea level, east-west trend, covering an area of 2 square kilometers. Mengshan is green, full of trees and green. The mountain is reflected in the water, and the "mountain mirage" spectacle has appeared many times. Mengshan is rich in folklore, especially the annual Mengshan temple fair. Mengshan Temple group was built in the northern and Southern Dynasties. In 1991, Mengshui town government rebuilt the Mengshan Temple group, and successively built Wenchang Pavilion, Sanxia hall, Yuhuang Pavilion, Sanfo hall, etc. At present, there are more than 20 temples, which have a certain scale and great influence.

Historic sites

There are more than ten old temples from the sunny side of Mengshan mountain to the top of the mountain, which are built on the top of the cliff or on the cut rock wall. But it has collapsed. There are still foundations, steps, debris, green bricks, pottery and porcelain. And many stone mortars used for flag poles in temples. There is Xue Rengui cemetery on the shady slope of the northeast corner of the main peak of Mengshan mountain. Xue Rengui, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty, was born in Longmen, Jiangzhou (now Hejin, Shanxi Province). He was born in 613, the ninth year of Daye in the Sui Dynasty, and died in 683, the second year of Yongchun in the Tang Dynasty. The stone gate of the cemetery was destroyed last year, and the horizontal stone on the gate was stolen the year before last. The stone inscription on the door is "cemetery of Tang Dynasty general Xue Rengui"

The cliff carvings with a long history are as follows, among which "roaming the nine clouds" has been more than 100 years.

There are other cliff inscriptions, such as "overlooking from a high altitude", "Confucius hears string songs" (inscribed by Zhao Shizhen in Shangyuan Dynasty), "towering green peaks", "cloud nest", "wiping Dai peaks", "Grand View" and so on.

Three square stone carvings have been destroyed. There are two green stone tablets in each of the two remaining temples. The inscriptions are all about the restoration of the temple.

There is a spring pool in Mengshan, with more than 20 caves (traces of early sand and stone). There is a large artificial cave with a stone bed. In the southwest of the main peak, it is now buried. There is also a civil air raid shelter dug in the last century in the mountain. The south entrance is to the west of the former Public Security Bureau, and the north entrance is to the east of the county hospital.

It is said that one day in history, Xue Rengui flew to the East expedition and just walked to the artificial lake. Suddenly, thunder and lightning flashed and purple air rose. His mount Yu Qilin was frightened and fecal incontinence. He ran and pulled while landing on the mountain. Xue Rengui suddenly realized the will of heaven and decided to be buried here after his death. There are poems as proof

Mengshan today

On December 29, 2009, the first phase project of Mengshan Park, which attracted the attention of the people in Jiaxiang County and surrounding areas, was successfully completed. At the beginning of 2009, Jiaxiang County Party committee and government launched the construction of Mengshan Park, which takes the whole county's efforts to develop Mengshan, striving to use three years to build Mengshan into a "tourist mountain, cultural mountain and never night mountain", making it the exhibition base of Chinese filial piety culture, regional leisure base and Jiaxiang ecological paradise. The total planning construction area of Mengshan park is 172.36 hectares, with the theme of "filial piety culture". The main planning structure is "one heart, two axes, four districts and six gates", which is constructed in four phases. In the first phase of the construction of the park, 6 of the 10 projects have been completed, including water diversion, mountain greening, road construction, eight pavilions and one pavilion construction, ecological slope protection corridor bridge construction, Yingfeng square construction, monument maintenance, Zhenwu Temple restoration, and 4 of the main works have been completed. The second phase project of Mengshan park has also been started. Next year, it will focus on the construction of Tiansuo square and Huolin square.
