Yulong Lake scenic spot is located in Lishi town and Pilu town in the east of Luxian county. It is named "Yulong Lake" because its water color is as blue as jade and its water surface is like a huge multi legged dragon. Yulong lake is known as "the first lake in South Sichuan" for its numerous islands and beautiful scenery.

Yulong lake has beautiful environment and pleasant climate. Surrounded by mountains around the lake, the mountains are undulating, the far peak is like Dai, the near mountain is green, and the scenery is pleasant. The scenic area covers an area of 27 square kilometers and is rich in tourism resources. In the east of the lake, there are "Erlang well", "Mishi ancient street" and other historical sites. In the west of the lake, there is the Puzhao temple, which was built in the Ming Dynasty. In Hunan, there is the underground Dragon Palace, which is more than 1000 meters long. It is an artificial lake integrating flood control, irrigation, aquaculture and tourism. The reservoir area is 13 square kilometers, the water surface is 6 square kilometers, the lake length is 25.18 kilometers, the limited water level is 17 meters, the water storage is 25.1 million cubic meters, and the irrigated farmland is more than 100000 mu. There are 72 islands and peninsulas in the lake, known as "the first lake in South Sichuan".

Yulong lake has beautiful environment and pleasant climate. Surrounded by mountains around the lake, the mountains are undulating, the far peak is like Dai, the near mountain is green, the pines and cypresses are tall and straight, the willows are shady, the flowers and fruits are fragrant, and the scenery is pleasant. The lake is wide and quiet, the water is clear and transparent, the waves are bright and the water is beautiful. Scenic Area Planning

According to the overall planning, the scenic spot is divided into five major scenic spots (Yulong Lake core scenic spot, Puzhao temple mountain scenic spot, screw mountain scenic spot, Linqing Bay scenic spot and xianfo scenic spot), 18 major scenic spots and 36 small scenic spots. Through the development and construction in recent years, the scenic spot has taken shape, with a total investment of 70 million yuan. The infrastructure has been transformed and 2.83 km of Liyu cement road has been hardened; the self coming pool has been built, and the circuit, optical fiber TV and optical cable telephone have been newly installed and reconstructed to ensure the smooth flow of water, electricity and road; Yulong villa, Yulong Hotel, Yulong paradise, Yulong Wan, Yulong fishing port, twelve zodiac holiday village, Qionghua garden, Hongde villa and other leisure and entertainment places have been developed and built; Four new cruise docks have been built, and nearly 40 cruise boats have been launched; Puzhao temple, a temple in Ming Dynasty, has been restored; and Lianhua villa is under construction. Being in Yulong lake is a kind of enjoyment of returning to nature.

Yulong lake has become a pollution-free fishery breeding base in Sichuan Province. There are many kinds of fish and a considerable number of them. There are more than ten kinds of national protected animals, such as Myxocyprinus asiaticus, paddlefish and so on.

In 1996, the 11th "Luzhou Laojiao Cup" fishing competition in Sichuan Province was held here, known as "the first fishing in South Sichuan". Yulong lake is famous for its bean curd, bacon and fresh fish.

Latest planning

Objective: to renovate the surrounding environment of Puzhao temple, restore the sightseeing route from waterway to the foot of the mountain, and then climb the mountain to worship, build new climbing viewing pavilions, develop Tamu Bay and Dalan long scenic spots, and create a characteristic rural tourism resort.

Build a tour road around the lake and a water upstream line. The Daba to Pilu and the Daba to Tuanjie touring highways will be reconstructed as class III highways. Yulong, Puzhao temple, tamuwan and Dalan long scenic spots will be built around the lake, and the upstream line from the dam to Puzhao temple will be opened up.
