Wu's ancestral hall
Doushan Wu ancestral hall was built in 1763, the 28th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty. After reconstruction in 1871 and expansion in 1902, it formed the existing architectural pattern and became the representative work of local architecture in Eastern Hubei.
Doushan Wu ancestral hall
As the core scenic spot of Doushan ancient village in Hong'an County, it is located in the middle of Doushan village. The Wu ancestral temple was built in the 28th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It was jointly built by the Wu clan. It was repaired in the 10th year of Tongzhi reign and newly built in the 28th year of Guangxu reign. It took two years to complete. It consumed more than two hundred thousand yuan of money. The contribution of the various sons of the clan to the field has not yet been included. The temple faces north from the south, with brick, stone and wood structure. The main building is composed of the front Guanle building, the middle worship hall and the back ancestral hall. The front, middle and back three buildings are separated by courtyards and connected by corridors. The layout is rigorous and integrated. There are huge plaques on the front of the archway, such as "the book of family inheritance" and "Wu's ancestral hall". On the roofs of the three buildings, there are fish tail cornices with bowls hung on the cornices. Its courtyard, corridor, hall, door, window, railing, beam frame, wall, ridge, tile surface, or painted, or woodcut, or stone carving, all kinds of mythical figures, rare birds and animals, mountain scenery and other patterns, with a wide range of themes, exquisite workmanship, vivid shape, lifelike image, superb craftsmanship. Wu's ancestral hall has a large scale, exquisite structure, complete decoration techniques of various ancient buildings, and excellent production. It is a precious heritage of Hui Style ancient architectural art brick, stone, and wood carving, and enjoys the reputation of "treasure house of folk crafts in Hubei". Among them, the painting of eight immortals and Tai Chi, the relief of three towns in Wuhan, Dayu farming, King Wen's visit to sages and qunyinghui, the hollow out carving of golden Mouse playing with grapes, the pottery sculpture of Phoenix and crane, and the stone carving of lion are particularly exquisite.
The ancestral hall faces north and south, with a construction area of 1128 square meters. The main building is composed of a memorial archway gate tower, a theater building, a worship hall and a ancestral hall. The plan is a two-way quadrangle layout, with courtyard spacing and corridor connected, and the layout is rigorous. Wood carving, stone carving, brick carving, ceramic sculpture, color painting and other architectural decoration techniques are widely used, with rich themes and exquisite workmanship, enjoying the reputation of "treasure house of Hubei folk arts and crafts".
Scope of protection
Taking the outer wall of the ancestral hall as the boundary, it extends 60 meters to the East and west respectively, and 80 meters to the South and north respectively.

According to experts' research, the wood carving art of Wu's ancestral hall is of the best level among the folk carvings in Hubei Province, and it is the masterpiece of the wood carving art school "Huang Xiao Gang" at that time. Doushan Wu ancestral hall is known as "the first ancestral hall in Eastern Hubei" for its integrity and high artistic value. Many books include stone and wood carvings in the temple. In 1992, with the approval of the people's Government of Hubei Province, it was announced as the third batch of "key cultural relics protection units in Hubei Province", and in 2006, it was announced as "national key cultural relics protection units" by civil servants.
