History of Daiyun Temple
According to historical records, monks came here to practice in the southern and Northern Dynasties. In the Tang Dynasty, Shi Zhiliang, a monk in Quanzhou, went to Daiyun to practice because he admired the elegance of Daiyun mountain. Daiyun temple was built on the south slope of Daiyun mountain in the second year of Kaiping (908 AD) of Houliang Dynasty. The back of the temple is a towering and barrier like Mount Daiyun. Fengshi Ruliang is the founder of the temple. Daiyun temple is one of the famous temples with a large scale and a long history in central Fujian Province. Up to now, there are still some plaques of "Haoyu jingshe" inscribed by Jinshi in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the great Bachelor of Jianji hall and the title of Prince Shaoshi, and the great calligrapher Zhang ruitu.
After the temple was built, it was maintained and repaired for generations, and the temple was grand. Daiyunshan temple has experienced thousands of years of vicissitudes. In the second year of Duangong in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 989), Seng huaizheng raised funds for expansion. In 1244, a stone slab bridge was built in front of the temple. Qing Kangxi 23 years (AD 1684) to build the main hall. In 1748 and 1805, the buildings were partially repaired. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940 A.D.), Malaysian overseas Chinese Chen Zhuzi and Dai Yun Jushi Chen Bozhang invited believers surnamed Tongye, Zheng and Xu to donate money for restoration, and the pattern of regulation was formed here.
Near Daiyun temple, there is the Buddhist relic pagoda of Qing Dynasty, which is called "Haihui pagoda". The inscription on the stone tablet at the back of the pagoda says: "this temple advocates the idea of" comparing the origin with the mystery ". Zhenbao, Zhencheng, Zhenying, Zhenliang, Zhenyan, Zhenzi, etc. jointly build the Haihui pagoda, so as to hang down forever and share the same understanding with the geographical mirror. In the middle of the year of Kangxi and Xinhai, it was an auspicious day
In 1961, it was issued by Fujian Provincial People's government as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. After reconstruction in 1997, Daiyun temple is composed of upper, middle and lower halls. The wing rooms on both sides are connected with the main hall, which is magnificent. The beautiful scenery of Daiyun mountain behind the temple, with its unique peaks and rocks, is eye-catching! In Ming Dynasty, some people summarized the scenery of Daiyunshan as "daiyunqiu", "yingxuechunhu", "yizhubangong", "qilipangu", "Liuchao zhenseng", "Shimao Dingguan", "Fengji tongxuan", "jianpan Shizhou", "Tianchi snow", "Shibi xuansong", "Yunzhong Shichang", "tianwaixian spring", "Shanxi shigu", "Yandong Shizhong" and so on These reveal the features of the scenery and endow it with mythical color.
Daiyunshan also has "nun building" and "Buddha room" in the Qin Dynasty, "holy monk tomb" in the Six Dynasties, "ancestor tomb" in the Tang Dynasty, "monk tomb" in all previous dynasties, Jianling stone slab bridge built in the 10th year of Chunyou in the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1250), and ancient silver smelting sites.
In the Tang and Song Dynasties, Quanzhou Erythrina port was not only an important port on the maritime Silk Road, but also known as "Quanzhou Fujian Buddhist kingdom". Many friends from Asian and African countries come here, including Buddhist monks. Master shizhiliang, who lived in Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou in the late Tang Dynasty, is one of the most famous.
Shi Zhiliang has lived in Donglu lane of Kaiyuan Temple for many years and has a deep knowledge of Buddhism and Han culture. No matter in spring, summer, autumn and winter, he often bares his arms and turns to the city, still in the frost and snow. People call him "the monk with bare arms". When he visited Daiyun mountain, he saw that the mountain is towering and magnificent, with strange rocks and beautiful peaks. He thought that it was very secluded and suitable to build a Lushan. He once wrote a poem praising it
The top of Daiyun mountain is full of white clouds.
A pool is divided into nine streams.
Shi Zhiliang was nostalgic for the mountains and waters of Daiyun mountain. After years, he returned to Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou. He admired Zhong lingyuxiu of Daiyun mountain. He was eager to eat and was unwilling to eat. He often said to himself, "you are in Ziyun, you are in Daiyun." Ziyun is Kaiyuan Temple, which is also called Ziyun hall. He and his teacher cigan moved from Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou to Daiyun Lishan. Jielu gave lectures on Buddhist scriptures and preached. It is said that tigers tamed the side. If one asks about the weather, it will come true. In 858, Shi Ruliang died in Kaiyuan Temple. His disciples took his body statue as a memorial, which was called "master shirtless". After he moved to Daiyunshan to worship according to his will, his compassion also became a positive fruit in Daiyunshan.
In the Song Dynasty, Qiao Weiyue, the magistrate of Quanzhou, visited Daiyun. After remembering the anecdote of the eminent monk Shi Zhiliang in his article "the story of Daiyun mountain", he said with emotion: "mountains and waters are often the basis of the Buddhist temple, that is, their body and transformation, and their names and images are still the same as this mountain."
Since the establishment of Daiyun temple, many eminent monks have meditated here in history. In the southern and Northern Dynasties (420-589), monks developed it here. During the reign of emperor Dazhong of Tang Dynasty (847-859), Zhiliang, an eminent Indian monk, and his teacher cigan were stationed in xilishan to preach scriptures. Later, he became the founder of Daiyun temple. Today, the abbot of Daiyun temple is a monk who graduated from Taiwan Buddhist College and is called Buddhism. After hundreds of years, some scenic spots in front of and behind the temple may have moved from time to time. For example, the original scenic spot of "stone wall hanging pine" may disappear with the passage of the sun and the moon. Some scenic spots appear from another place. Another example is the "Daiyun Temple" which "yunwo ancient temple" probably refers to. Its appearance is quite different from that of the original. Some of the Four Heavenly Kings (four vajras) Mahavira palaces originally built according to the pattern of Buddhist temples have disappeared, and some of them have changed. But the existing Daiyun temple is decorated with lifelike stone dragon pillars, and the roof is covered with magnificent yellow glazed tiles, which is much more spectacular than before.
Dai Yun Temple is popular in Fujian, Taiwan and overseas, and has many believers. However, due to its long history, there are few old monks in modern times. In November 1996, master Shi Chuanbin of Jinhai Chan temple in Taipei County, Taiwan Province, and Mr. Zheng dianjin, a native of Dehua, visited the boundless scenery of Daiyun mountain. After visiting Daiyun temple, they felt the scene and emotion, and said affectionately, "you don't know the magnificence of Daiyun until you have been to Daiyun. When I got to Daiyun, I was reluctant to leave. We should do something useful to make this trip worthwhile. " So they immediately expressed their willingness to donate money to rebuild the temple. In February 1997, during the third session of the 13th people's Congress of Dehua County, 11 deputies, including Chen Nengfeng, submitted to the Congress a proposal that the county government should take measures to protect Daiyun temple. The county government attaches great importance to this issue. On May 15, Lin Furu, deputy researcher of the county department level and director of the county cultural relics management committee, led the leaders of the County Cultural Bureau, the cultural management office and other relevant departments to the Daiyun temple for on-the-spot investigation, studied with the person in charge of Daiyun village, and put forward preliminary measures for the protection of Daiyun temple. On September 3, the two committees of Daiyun village wrote a report on the maintenance plan and the required funds of Daiyun temple to the relevant departments of the county. On October 16, the leaders of the Taiwan Work Office of the county Party committee and the Special Committee Office of the county CPPCC accompanied Mr. Zheng dianjin, a Taiwan compatriot, to visit Daiyun temple. Mr. Zheng expressed his willingness to mobilize relevant people in Taiwan to donate money to build the temple. On November 23, county magistrate Xu kunzhen, member of the Standing Committee of the county Party committee Lu Suzhu, vice chairman of the county CPPCC Liang Dingyun and leaders of relevant departments of the county accompanied master Chuanbin of Taiwan's Jinhai Chan temple and Zheng dianjin administration to visit Daiyun temple again. The two Taiwan compatriots said they would donate money to build the main hall and donated US $13000 (Mr. Zheng dianjin 8000, Shi Chuanbin 5000) on the spot. On the afternoon of the same day, Xu kunzhen county magistrate, LV Suzhu standing committee member, Liang Dingyun vice chairman, leaders of relevant departments of the county Party committee and the county government, main leaders of Chishui town and Daiyun village, and Taiwan compatriots Shi Chuanbin and Zheng dianjin held a forum in the reception room of the county government. They decided to establish the "Construction Committee of Daiyun temple in Dehua County, Fujian Province". The county finance allocated 100000 yuan to broaden and rebuild the public space from Daiyun village to Daiyun temple Road, Chishui town is responsible for the organization of construction, and completed before the Spring Festival.
Liang Dingyun, vice chairman of the county CPPCC and head of the United Front Work Department of the county Party committee, was appointed director of the Construction Committee of Daiyun temple. On May 22, 1997 (April 16 of the lunar calendar), the reconstruction was officially started. Taiwan compatriots Shi Chuanbin, Zheng dianjin and other foreigners donated more than 3.5 million yuan. Completed on November 20, 2000 (lunar October 35). Daiyun temple, which is still under reconstruction, is composed of the main hall, the ancestral hall, the Zen house and other ancillary buildings. The ancient temple is magnificent, magnificent and magnificent, and the back and the two wings of the mountain arch guards are full of ancient trees and bamboo, refreshing and refreshing. In front of the temple, there is a "release pool" with clear springs and good spirits. Over the years, Dehua county Party committee and county government have attached great importance to the protection of the ecological environment of mountains and waters resources in central Fujian and the development of tourism in Daiyun mountain. Yang Yimin, the county magistrate, took the time out of his busy schedule to make several mountaineering visits and draw a blueprint for the construction in person. Since then, the county and town governments have invested more than 2 million yuan in ecological protection and tourism facilities construction of Daiyun mountain. The infrastructure and service facilities have been greatly improved. A 4.86 km highway from Menghu village of Chishui town to Daiyun temple has been built, which can be driven from Dehua county to the temple site. Daiyun temple has become a major landscape of Daiyun mountain scenic spot and a famous place in the history of religious and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. Tourists and pilgrims come in an endless stream all year round. Mr. Wei Yutiao, a Taiwan compatriot, is particularly interested in the unique natural environment here. His family moved from Nantou County to Dehua and settled down in Dehua, where he invested in planting more than 1500 mu of Alpine Yunwu Tea. This broad green landscape closely connects Daiyunshan and Alishan's constant love for giving up!
