Brief introduction to the temple
Zizhu temple is located on the Zizhu mountain in shagong Township, Dingqing County, Changdu Prefecture, Tibet, about 37 kilometers away from the county seat.
Zizhu means six mountain peaks, where different peaks rise, tall and steep, grotesque rocks and Buddhist temples are stacked. This temple has become an important place for the study of the ancient Yongzhong Bon religion in Tibet.
According to the classic records, Zizhu temple is the Taoist temple of Guanyin Bodhisattva. "Zizhu" means "six peaks". The six peaks symbolize that Guanyin Bodhisattva uses compassion and wisdom to cultivate all six living beings and help them to get rid of their troubles. They represent the six virtues in all walks of life: giving, keeping precepts, enduring humiliation, striving, meditation, Prajna, and greed, ignorance, anger, arrogance and jealousy towards all living beings The way of treating evil ideas. There are four sacred mountains in Bon Religion: Gangdise mountain in Ali, today's holy mountain in Linzhi, Zizhu mountain in Changdu and Meili Snow Mountain in Deqin
. The six peaks are full of halls, Scripture halls and monks' houses. During the prosperous period, there were as many as two or three thousand monks. When the Buddha xinraomiwo was carrying forward Buddhism, he once preached Buddhism in Zizhu mountain and gave great blessing. In the future, there will be many great achievers who benefit all living beings. Since then, 80 great achievers have sprung up in the past dynasties, and left their precious relics. For example, there are xinmeizupu, dongjiong, zhanbananka, caiwangrenzeng, rodenib, sanggelinba, etc., as well as the caves where they practice with master lianhuasheng, and they have left fingerprints and footprints on the stone walls. There are many sacred sites in Zizhu mountain. The Buddha statues, mandala and mantra in the cliff and cave are dazzling. It gathers such a wealth of religious treasures in one mountain. At the same time, Zizhu mountain also has a tunnel around the mountain which represents the six samsara. Many Tibetans come here to worship devoutly.
Zizhu temple is located in a steep mountain, far away from the secular society, so that it has always maintained a pure atmosphere of practicing Dharma. Over the past three thousand years, Zizhu temple has been disturbed or even demolished in spite of famine, legal disaster, war or turmoil. However, the fire of Buddhism can never be extinguished here. Many Bon Buddhist scriptures and rituals have only been completely preserved and inherited in Zizhu temple, such as the grand divine dance "bliss and hell", which is performed once every 12 years. Zizhu Temple carries forward the perfect Buddhism of Xianzong, Mizong and dayuanman, and has a complete inheritance system of dayuanman. He advocated the basic principles of eliminating evil and following good, retribution, reincarnation pain and nirvana happiness, and advocated the combination of extensive learning and practice, especially the cultivation of great perfection secret method.
Temple History
According to many ancient classics, in order to make Yongzhong's Bon religion last forever, Yongzhong went to 33 steep mountains in Tubo to give blessing. Zizhu mountain is one of them. Buddha left his footprints in Zizhu mountain, which is still clear to this day.
In the 10th century B.C., the second-generation king of Tibet, muchisanpu, built 37 Taoist temples in all parts of Tubo. The "RULA jiuchu" clean forest without dirt was the later Zizhu temple.
Master mubangsadong, the first generation of Zizhu living Buddha, is one of the eight great achievements of the "translator inheritance" of our religion. His relic has always been a sacred object of all generations of Zizhu living Buddha. At that time, Zizhu mountain was an important Dharma center of Tufan, with more than 3000 monks. The sages and great gurus of Bon religion, such as Dongji Tuqin, dun Benji Jicha maqiong, zhanbananka, lianhuasheng, Caiwang renzeng, jieqin Lagong, LongQin Muta and Dongqin Mucha Jiemei, have successively practiced in Zizhu mountain, leaving their own places of practice and holy sites. At that time, there were 80 practitioners in Zizhu mountain, known as "Zizhu 80". In the eighth century, chisongdezan, the thirtieth generation of Tibetan king, exterminated benzene; Zizhu temple was temporarily silent.
In the 14th century, master Luo daningbu, a great Tibetan digger and great fullman, revived Zizhu temple. Master Rodin is an eminent monk of "Er Zhuan". He opened the altar in Zizhu temple to preach cultivation and promote Dharma and life. Many eminent monks of classical prophecy came from the master's family. He also restored many other Bon temples in Dingqing.
He handed down a lot of Scripture and Dharma treasures, and magically squeezed a hard stone into the shape of a clay quilt, which became his Dharma relic. (right)
In the 17th century, master sangjilinba, a holy monk, presided over Zizhu temple, which was developed unprecedentedly. He preached the miraculous deeds of farisheng. A statue of Guanyin with 11 sides once said to the master that he would like to go to Zizhu mountain with him to spend a lot of people. That statue of Guanyin is the treasure of Zizhu temple, which is the statue of "Saint I go to talk to myself". The master opened a large number of rituals and scriptures, which were handed down to the present day; he also restored many Bon temples outside Ding Qing. Like living Buddha rhodaningbu, master sangirimba also left a "holding stone" Dharma relic. In addition, the relics left by the master include the crystal clear spiritual bones and the skull with the word "ah".
In 1926, master sanalinba was invited to Zizhu temple. In Zizhu mountain, he excavated some important hidden treasures, such as "Sutra collection", "great Prajna collection", "zongzhijing" and "Zizhu mountain Buddha trace record". He transformed the six scenes he saw in Dingzhong into "Jingmeng teaching", that is, "heaven and hell", a divine dance, to show karma to all living beings. Since then, every year in the year of the rooster in the Tibetan calendar, Zizhu temple has held a grand meeting in May of the Tibetan calendar to show pilgrims this large-scale divine dance for several days. For the first time, there were 100000 believers to observe the Dharma.
In 1982, gewangnanjie living Buddha and renqinjiangshen living Buddha began to repair the Zizhu temple which was demolished in the "Cultural Revolution". Many of the sacred objects in the temple gradually returned to the temple because they were protected by devout believers during the disaster. For example, the infinite light Buddha statue of Kaiguang Buddha, the relic of many ancestors, the statue of self talking Avalokitesvara, the Royal magic weapon of Ming Dynasty, the hidden Vajra pout, faling, hand drum, Bama oba statue, the seal of master zhanbananka and the scriptures of the past dynasties. The left-handed baifaluo left by dunba xinrao Buddha also returned to Zizhu temple again. Temple buildings have also been restored, and a large number of traditional rituals, especially the divine dance "bliss and hell" have been restored.
In 1993, he succeeded the 43rd Zizhu living Buddha. He continued the efforts of his previous life, restored the three schools of ZHACANG, debate and meditation, built the road up the mountain, and improved the monastic practice and living conditions year by year. There are more than 200 monks in the main temple of Zizhu temple, and there are more than 20 temples in various places. He also spread the Dharma to Han and overseas, so that more believers began to understand the Tao. In 2005, Ding Zhen, a living Buddha, presided over the year of the rooster Dharma Assembly. The number of believers attending the meeting reached more than 200000, with an unprecedented scale. When the Dharma association was held, a magnificent rainbow rose over Zizhu mountain, just like a bridge across the sky, as if it indicated that the no leakage Dharma of Zizhu mountain would spread to all parts of the world along the color bridge in the air, and benefit more people.
The area of 39 ethnic groups in qiongbo and Dingqing has gradually become the area with the largest number of Bon temples and believers and the greatest influence. Zizhu temple is one of the largest existing temples with the largest number of believers and the most complete preserved Bon rituals in Kangqu district.
Teaching system
Because Zizhu temple is located in the snow mountain with an altitude of 4800 meters, the natural conditions are very difficult. Monks practice Buddhism in very difficult circumstances. There are more than 200 monks in Zizhu temple. The temple has set up three schools for them, namely Neiming school, debate school and Zen School. From Neiming to Zen School in Zizhu temple, the monks have to finish the 187 classics of Xianzong, Tantric school and dayuanman school in Ganzhuer (the oral knowledge of Ganzhuer). In recent years, thanks to donations from believers in the mainland, roads leading to Zizhu temple have been built.
The Bon Buddhist temple in Zizhu temple can systematically narrate the Bon classics and teach various methods of practice, including the mysterious and ancient supreme yoga. There is also an ancient god dance in the temple. In Tibet, only Zizhu temple can retain and reproduce the original appearance of this dance.
Zacang school
Zacang means "monastery". The schools where monks study in Tibetan Buddhist temples are collectively referred to as zacang. In view of the poor life and backward education of the people in Dingqing area, Zizhu Temple concentrates the primary cultural and religious courses in the Buddhist specialized system into an independent teaching institution, which is called ZHACANG school. The middle and advanced courses are taught in another Neiming school. The term of the monks in zacang school depends on the cultural foundation of the monks. It usually takes two to six years for a semester. The current zhacangkanbu is gasong Danzeng.
Neiming school
Neiming School of Zizhu Temple teaches middle and advanced courses to monks who have primary knowledge. Besides Buddhism, history and astrology
