Zhongmuzhao ancient manor site
Zhongmuzhao ancient manor site is located in Zhongmu natural village, Dayou Township, 23 kilometers northeast of cengong County, Guizhou Province. The ancient manor is 285 meters wide, 120 meters deep, with a total area of 34120 square meters. It is a typical Chinese palace building with proper layout and simple workmanship.
Site introduction
The site is made of large square stones. There are seven roadways, fourteen walls, twenty-four sets of buildings and stone carving ground. The carving patterns are: Huizi pattern, Qianqian pattern, fish scale pattern, sun pattern and so on. The base surface has stamp, stone pile foundation, stone gate and so on. The wall is 810 meters long and has four doors, East, West, North and south. Although the most complete south gate, wooden gate and door frame have been burned, it is not difficult to imagine the style of that year from the existing wall. It is estimated that the construction of this city, including stone extraction, stone transportation, carving and construction, will take about 4000 labor to build for 10-15 years.
The site is surrounded by salt storehouse, Dianzi, ancient garden, niuchangba, wax storehouse and other ancillary building sites. Among them, a ginkgo tree, whose mother tree has withered, has a height of 50-60 meters and a girth of 5.7 meters.
Six open-air courtyards of different sizes have been excavated from the ancient site. One of the courtyards in front of the central hall is 13.1 meters long and 12.43 meters wide, paved with 120 square bluestone slabs. On the surface of each stone slab, there are patterns such as Huizi pattern, Taiyang pattern, Qianqian pattern and fish scale pattern. In the south of the courtyard, there is a rectangular fire water tank built with bluestone slabs.
To the east of the courtyard, there is a square flower pool about 3.6 meters long and 1 meter high. Stalactite rockery was built in the pool, and bamboo and holly trees were planted around the pool. Strangely enough, a stone like relic, about 40 cm in diameter, was unearthed from the flower pool. There was a square hole like an axle in the center and a gear like groove around it. What is this stone disc? It's still a mystery.
24 house foundations were found in the ancient ruins, and all the foundations, collapse piles and column foundations still exist. Among them, the central hall is the most spacious. The floor of the central hall is paved with 12 cm thick hexagonal ancient green bricks, which is very elegant and unique.
When was the old manor built? In 1983, 17 experts and scholars from Guizhou Provincial Museum and other research institutions made a special visit here. According to the remains on the ground, they initially believe that it is an ancient manor site of the Ming Dynasty. In 1985, Guizhou Provincial People's government listed it as a cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.
Mysterious culture
Attention of experts and scholars
In May 2010, Beijing Qing history experts visited zhongmuzhao, saying that the place is indeed mysterious, and that it is difficult to understand the things here with their knowledge; Hu Huawei, a doctor reporter of Guangming Daily, said that it may be a world-wide topic, which is more valuable than the research on the Qing history tombs in Majiazhai; Wu Dahua, President of Guizhou Academy of Social Sciences, came to zhongmuzhao for an investigation, saying that the research on zhongmuzhao's contract documents would be a key topic of the Academy. Yang Guanglin, former deputy director of Guizhou Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee and President of Guizhou Miao society, led experts and scholars from Guizhou University and Miao society to investigate, saying that the culture here is very thick, and there may be a very glorious period here; An cenxiang, deputy director of the cultural and Sports Bureau and director of the Cultural Relics Bureau of Qiandongnan Prefecture, made an in-depth investigation on the scene and said with great feeling that Jinping Wendou is famous for its "Jinping documents" in the world, so he didn't want zhongmuzhao's documents to be richer and more valuable for research.
Media attention
CCTV's record channel came to record the documents of the Sizhou contract. Hong Kong Ta Kung Pao, Guangming Daily, Guizhou daily, Guizhou Metropolis Daily, Qiandongnan daily and other media reporters all went to zhongmuzhao for interview, investigation and publicity. The influence of zhongmuzhao site has expanded to the whole country.
Various explanations
Archaeological experts and cultural scholars have formed many theories in the previous archaeological investigation and research, mainly including the following four kinds.
Ancient manor said.
There is no record of when the original building of zhongmuzhao was built. 17 experts and scholars, including Wu Yejun of Guizhou Provincial Museum, visited the site in 1983. According to the ground remains, it is preliminarily considered to be the ancient manor site of Ming Dynasty. In 1985, Guizhou Provincial People's government listed it as a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
It is said by the ancient Yelang state.
Huang tousong, a local scholar, is the former Vice Minister of Propaganda Department of cengong county Party committee of the Communist Party of China and the former chief editor of cengong county annals. He is known as "sizhoutong". Through more than 20 years of field investigation and research, he came to the conclusion that "Yelang ghost capital" is a unique theory in the field of Yelang Culture Research in Guizhou, which has aroused strong repercussions in the industry and society.
The political center of chieftains in Yuan and Ming Dynasties.
In the winter of 2009, ye Chengyong, a doctor of archaeology, and Guo Guoqing, a doctor of history of Guizhou University for nationalities, visited the site of muzhao manor in cengong county at the invitation of cengong county. After the investigation, the two experts put forward a new point of view that the muzhao manor site was the political center of the Tian chieftain of Sizhou from the Yuan Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty. The two experts pointed out that the muzhao site is a historical project with complete functions and large scale, involving politics, economy (Commerce), culture, military and other aspects of the yuan and Ming Dynasties. The cultural connotation is quite rich, far from being comparable to a "manor".
On the ancient city of Miao
On June 21, 2012, 14 experts and scholars from Guizhou University, Guizhou Academy of Social Sciences, Guizhou University for nationalities, Guizhou Miao society and other units went to zhongmuzhao for investigation. Through the research on the characteristics of ground cultural relics, folk visits and listening to the research reports of local cultural scholars, combined with their years of research, they concluded that zhongmuzhao site is "the ancient city of Miao". Yang Guanglin, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress and President of the provincial Miao society, said that the design of the ground cultural relics of zhongmuzhao is an element of Miao culture, and the basis for defining zhongmuzhao as the ancient city of the Miao people is relatively sufficient. "There may be a very glorious period in zhongmuzhao. The ancient manor has no such profound culture. Many things have never been seen before. It's an eye opener for us!"
