Panguzhai site
Panguzhai site is located in mugangsi village, Dongxia Town, 20km northeast of Xihua county, Zhoukou City. It is said that Pangu, the founder of Chinese mythology, was buried here.
The village was called "Pangu village" in ancient times, and there are brick carvings on plaques of "Pangu village" in Song Dynasty. In the east of the village, there is an ancient tomb site, 2500 meters from north to South and 500 meters from east to west. Because of the flood of the Yellow River, the tombs were silted to the ground. There is a "Pangu well" beside the tomb, which has not been fully filled by floods and rainstorms over the years, and is now silted into pits. In ancient times, there were Pangu mausoleum and 100 mu temple in the village, so it was later called "Mugang Temple". Because the name of the village with the word "Tomb" is considered not auspicious, later changed to "Mugang Temple" continues to this day. Panguzhai site is one of the few Pangu cultural sites in China, which is of great significance to the study of Chinese and world ancient culture. Pangu village is 10 kilometers away from Nuwa city in the West and 30 kilometers away from Fuxi Taihao mausoleum in the East. Once demonstrated and developed, it will play a huge role in the formation of ancient cultural tourism area connecting Pangu, Nuwa and Fuxi.
