Zongjiao Lukang Park
Zongjiao Lukang park is a park in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located at the foot of the mountain to the east of Potala Palace.
history
Zongjiao Lukang is located at the back of Potala mountain. Beside the lake, there are ancient willows, which make the scenery charming. In Tibetan, "Zongjiao" means "behind Gongbao" (Gongbao refers to Potala Palace), and "Lukang" means "LUSHEN (translated as LUSHEN) Palace". Lu God is the general name of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon religion for a kind of gods living underground and in water. "Lu God" is often translated into Chinese as "Dragon God", and then misinterpreted as "Dragon King" in Chinese, so it is commonly known as "Dragon King Pool" in Chinese. During the expansion of the Potala Palace in the 17th century, a large amount of soil was collected here, so the pool was formed by water. During the period of the Sixth Dalai Lama, an attic was built on the small island in Tanzhong according to the mandala of Tibetan Buddhism, and a five hole stone arch bridge with a width of more than 3 meters and a length of more than 20 meters was erected to connect the island with the outside world. The eighth Dalai Lama and the Thirteenth Dalai Lama also renovated and repaired the site. The attic on the island is three stories high, of which the first and second floors are fully symmetrical cross shaped temples, mainly for Lu God. In addition, it is also dedicated to the goddess Mo Zhu Saiqin, who is said to be invited by the Sixth Dalai Lama from Mo Zhu gongka, as well as the jar city of Baoping and many Dharma protectors. There are corridors around the temple to enjoy the scenery. The top floor of the attic is a small hexagonal hall, with a bucket arch and eaves, and a hexagonal peak. After the completion of the attic, it became a Forbidden Garden for a few monks and nobles in Lhasa to row cattle and kayak, and other people were forbidden to enter. During the Sagadawa Festival on April 15 in the Tibetan calendar, people come to the temple to worship the goddess Saiqin, offering hada, offering gifts and lighting butter lamps. After the implementation of democratic reform in Tibet, it was turned into a park. At first, there were many shops and teahouses, and fish could be fed by the lake. Later, it was turned into a closed park. Due to the construction of urban roads, in 1965, two stone steles originally located in front of the Potala Palace were moved here. One stone stele is Emperor Kangxi's "imperial control and pacification of Tibet stele", which describes the process of pacifying the Junggar rebellion in 1721 and moved to the right side of the park gate. The other stone stele is Emperor Qianlong's "imperial complete stele", which describes the generals sent in 1792 Junfukang'an led his troops into Tibet to expel the Gorkha invaders and moved to the left side of the park gate. The two steles were moved back to the South Gate of the square city of Potala in 1990. After zongjiaolukang was turned into a closed Park, there was a playground. Although there were few recreational facilities, it was still very popular with children because there was no special amusement park in Lhasa at that time. After the amusement facilities on the Potala Palace Square were demolished due to the expansion of the square, Zongjiao lukangzhong playground became the only children's playground in Lhasa. Zongjiao Lukang's amusement facilities developed from simple sports equipment to bumper cars, spaceships, racing cars, crazy mice, pirate ships and so on. These amusement facilities accompanied the children in Lhasa to have a wonderful childhood. Later, zongjiaolukang's amusement facilities were all moved to Venus amusement park, and zongjiaolukang no longer had any amusement facilities. Zongjiao Lukang was once called "Liberation Park", and the above two stone tablets were placed in the park. The park is called "Zongjiao Lukang Park". Today, Zongjiao Lukang has been transformed into an open park. It is a place for Lhasa citizens to do morning exercises and leisure every day, and it is also the nearest place to the Potala Palace.
Scenery
Cuojiji lake is the main lake in Zongjiao Lukang Park, which is an artificial lake. The water originally seeped out from the underground, and the water level was stable. Except for the rise of water level in rainy days, the water depth was generally about 1.5 meters in the rest of the time. Later, the water of the lake was drained manually. Not far from the lake, there are willow trees, dozens of hundreds of years old and strong willow trees, or crooked, or winding, with different posture. It is said that the scientific name of this willow is "Kangding willow". In 2006, the people's Government of Lhasa re planned and renovated the Zongjiao Lukang park. On the basis of maintaining the original style, the park was divided into five scenic areas: folk activity area, ecological waterscape area, Longtan scenic area, hydrophilic activity area and cultural activity area. There is a gravel road which means "hada in the forest" in the old woods on the south side of the reconstructed Zongjiao Lukang park. There are natural barren stones and strip stone tables on the road, making it a place for tourists to relax and talk. The southwest corner of the park is a folk activity area, and the hexagonal pavilion is the commanding height. A clockwise circular square will be opened around the square. From the circular square, through the trees, you can see an open gentle slope and another circular hydrophilic square. The square is connected with the road in the opposite gentle slope lawn through a wooden arch bridge. There is a 30 meter high columnar fountain beside the square, which becomes the commanding point of the scenic spot. There is a circular forest square in the northeast corner of the scenic area.
