Shuicheng River

Xiangshui River, also known as Xiangshui River, flows in the central area of Liupanshui. It originates from Yaoshang reservoir in Fenghuang Township, Zhongshan District, with an elevation of 1816 meters. It flows through Township and sub district offices such as Fenghuang, Huangtupo, Hecheng, Jiaochang, etc., and flows into Sancha River at jinduzhai, Shuangdong village, yuezhao township. The entrance elevation is 1600 meters, and the river length is 20.5 kilometers. There is more than 1 kilometer dark river in Luojiazhai, yuezhao township. The catchment area is 186 square kilometers, with an average annual flow of 3.5 cubic meters per second and a drop of 216 meters. It is mainly used for irrigation. However, there are many factories and mines along the bank, causing serious pollution, which should be treated.

Liupanshui mother river

Shuicheng River, known as the "Mother River" of Liupanshui City, is a tributary of Sancha River, the main source of Wujiang River. It flows from west to East through the downtown area. It is the only surface river in the downtown area. It is composed of Yaoshang tributary, dewu tributary, yixiantian tributary and Shuicheng River trunk, with a total length of 31 km and flows through the downtown area for about 20 km. The flood control project of shuichenghe river was approved and started in 1999. In the urban planning, it is the urban landscape river and urban green corridor. It is an important area reflecting the quality of human settlements in Liupanshui City.

River regulation

Since the construction of Shuicheng River in 1998, it is still a half project. Through harnessing, some river sections have been widened, embankments have been built, and river greening has been done well. However, there is a very disharmonious situation between the riverway from Minghu road to the square and the "beautiful project" of the city: the river bed is full of garbage, the wall holes of the river embankment flow into the river bed full of sewage, and the air along the river is full of stink. What's more, the 400 meter section from the end of shuixinan road to the roadside of Minghu has become a natural "landfill". Some people with poor environmental awareness still use tricycles and trolleys to dump construction waste and domestic waste into the river. If we do not take strong measures to stop this kind of random dumping, the more garbage in the river, the more difficult it will be to control the Shuicheng river. During this period, more citizens and teachers and students from Zhongshan No.5 Middle School, municipal normal school and municipal special school lived there. It is harmful to people's life, study and health to let them live and study for a long time by the river full of rubbish and stink.
