The monument stands on the southwest side of the ancient road in Shibei village, Famen Town, less than three kilometers northeast of Famen Temple. The Guanzhong tourist ring road under construction passes one kilometer south of the monument. The body of the stele is carved from a whole block of marble 3.18 meters high and 2.19 meters wide, which is unique in the same period.
brief introduction
It has eight characters of "stele of Hongnong sages Jiqing" written by Prince Li Heng.
The inscription is written by Emperor Xuanzong, 26 lines, 57 characters each line. When Emperor Xuanzong wrote the inscription, he was 68 years old, and his calligraphy had reached a high level. The inscription is written in the popular eight point font of Sui and Tang Dynasties, recording the family background and life of Yang Xun.
Emperor Xuanzong's calligraphy is vigorous and impressive, which is loved by calligraphers of all ages.
Since the Tang Dynasty, countless admirers have been beating Yang's stele to get rubbings of the stele, resulting in a third of the inscriptions.
After more than 1200 years of wind and rain, the stele still stands tall without moving. In 1957, the stele was announced as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level by Shaanxi Provincial People's government. At that time, in order to protect the stele, it was planned to move the stele to the stele forest in Xi'an as the treasure of the town hall. Finally, the stele failed because of its huge size and lack of equipment at that time.
The people's Government of Fufeng County built a green brick stele building on the top of the hard mountain to protect the stele from wind and rain. The calligraphy, art, research and ornamental value of the monument are very high.
Now, the people's Government of Fufeng County has formulated a new protection plan for the monument. Soon, the Millennium Monument will take on a new look and greet visitors from all over the world with its majestic posture.
