From the investigation of the stele of Xianshan temple in yangboyou of the Ming Dynasty, the fact that the stele of the original Northern Dynasty statue in the temple was destroyed proves that (the statue on the upper part of the stele still exists) its construction age was later than that of the Northern Song Dynasty. Jiaqing county annals in Qing Dynasty, Zhang Zai (Hengqu) hidden this reading lectures, so it was named Xianshan. The road here is quiet and strange, and the mountains are circuitous and beautiful. Overlooking the Weihe River in Zhongnan, the mountains are far away, and the water is near. Whenever the sun goes down in the west, the Xiaguang reflects the ancient temples, lush ancient trees, temples and pavilions, screening the brilliance, winding and winding, and the dark cave is bright. "Night photo of Xianshan" is one of the eight scenic spots in Fufeng. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, scholars often travel in Xianshan and recite many poems. The monument of Yang boyouxian in Ming Dynasty still exists. The Yuan Dynasty brick pagoda, Ming and Qing architecture, zhangfuzi hall, Great Buddha Hall, Mountain Gate, monk's house and other ancient buildings in the temple were completely demolished in 1958. Since 1984, Buddhists have rebuilt five Buddhist halls and two kitchen houses. Xianshan temple has been restored.
In the middle preface, the temple began from the Tang Dynasty to the time of the Great Yuan Dynasty. There was a monk named Xianqi who traveled here at the age of 20 and dug a hole to live there. Over the past 90 years, his footprints did not reach the world. Erhu often guarded the cave and came from his hometown, so he was named Xianshan.
