Fuxing Bridge, also known as the fourth Qianjiang River Bridge, is a concrete-filled steel tubular composite tied arch bridge across the Qiantang River with double main arches in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It is located near Nanxing bridge, 4.3km downstream of Qiantang River Bridge, and 4.2km away from Xixing bridge downstream.
Fuxing Bridge was officially started on March 28, 2002;
It was opened to traffic on October 16, 2004.
The north end of Fuxing Bridge is connected with Zhonghe viaduct in Hangzhou city through Fuxing overpass, and the south end is connected with Binjiang No.12 road through Zhongxing overpass in Binjiang District,
The total length is 1376m, the width is 26.4m, and the design speed is 60km / h.
Construction process
On March 28, 2002, the construction of Fuxing Bridge officially started.
On September 8, 2002, affected by the storm surge of Qiantang River, the piers of Fuxing Bridge were washed down and the 300 meter construction bridge was destroyed.
On October 16, 2004, Fuxing Bridge was opened to traffic.
Since November 2012, Fuxing Bridge has started a large-scale maintenance project, and some bridge pavements of more than 7000 square meters have been re paved with SMA modified asphalt to replace the original ordinary asphalt.
Since November 2015, the upgrading and reconstruction project of Fuxing Bridge has been started, mainly renovating the asphalt pavement of the upper deck, and replacing all street lamps providing lighting services for vehicles on the lower deck.
Bridge location
Fuxing Bridge is located near Nanxing bridge, 4.3 km downstream of Qiantang River Bridge, and 4.2 km downstream of Xixing bridge. The north end of the bridge is connected with Zhonghe viaduct in Hangzhou city by Fuxing overpass, and the south end is connected with Binjiang No.12 road by Zhongxing overpass in Binjiang District.

Fuxing Bridge is a river crossing bridge combining urban road and rail transit. It is also a double deck double main arch concrete filled steel tubular composite tied arch bridge with combined span technology, which integrates deck, half through and through arch bridges. The double deck system of the bridge also adopts complex spatial structure system, which consists of beam, rod, plate and other structures, as well as steel pipe and steel stiffener It also includes steel members, concrete-filled steel tube members, concrete-filled square steel tube members and other components.
The upper layer of the bridge is provided with a two-way six lane fast lane, which is connected with Zhonghe viaduct and ground through Fuxing interchange in the north, Century Avenue and Jiangnan Avenue on the ground through Zhongxing interchange in the South; the middle layer of the lower layer is a double line light rail, which is connected with Fenghuang community road in the north, Century Avenue and Binsheng road in the South; bus lanes, non motorized lanes and special facilities for the disabled are set on both sides. As of November 2009, it is the most comprehensive urban bridge in China.
Design parameters
The main bridge of Fuxing Bridge has a total length of 1376m. The span combination of the whole bridge is: 2 × 45.75 + 2 × 89 + 196 + 5 × 89 + 196 + 2 × 89 + 2 × 45.75 = 1376m, of which the two spans of 2 × 45.75m are of double-layer prestressed concrete box girder structure with equal height. The span combination of the main bridge is 2 × 85 + 190 + 5 × 85 + 190 + 2 × 85m, of which the 85m span is the combination of through tied arch bridge and deck arch bridge, meeting the minimum navigable requirements The requirements of span (navigation clear width is more than 80 meters), 190 meters span is the combination of through tied arch bridge and half through arch bridge.
The bridge is about 2500 meters long and 26.4 meters wide, including the connection between the north and the south. The upper layer of the bridge is 25 meters wide, with 6 two-way motor vehicle fast lanes; the lower layer is three independent bridges, with bus lanes, bicycle and pedestrian passages on the left and right sides, each 7 meters wide. The central design is reserved land for light rail, 7.6 meters wide, which can be used as motor vehicle lanes. There are 10 motor vehicle lanes on the whole layer.
Fuxing Bridge also has eight viewing platforms with an average area of 370 square meters for tourists. At the same time, there are vertical elevators for tourists at both ends of the bridge.
Operation
Traffic matters
Since August 10, 2015, the vehicle dynamic weighing system has been installed in some lanes of the south approach bridge of Fuxing Bridge. Within two weeks after the installation, 2203 vehicles passing by have exceeded the load limit standard (the road weight limit is 40 tons), accounting for 6.4% of the total number of trucks. Among them, 684 vehicles are over 55 tons overweight, and the total weight of the heaviest vehicle is 115 tons.

Technical problems
Because the site of Fuxing Bridge is located in the depth of the river bed, the influence of tidal bore and wind wave is relatively large, and the requirements of navigation and other factors during the construction period, it is necessary to adopt the construction method without support. The arch rib of the whole bridge adopts the construction method of lifting steel tube arch rib first, and then pouring concrete-filled steel tube, while the tie beam adopts the method of pre erecting reinforced framework, and then erecting formwork and casting in situ concrete.

Fuxing Bridge has successively won the "West Lake Cup" award of Hangzhou Construction Project in 2004, the Qianjiang cup award of Zhejiang construction project in 2005, the national municipal golden cup demonstration project award in 2005, the Luban Award of China Construction Engineering (national quality project) in 2005 and the Zhan Tianyou award of China Woodworking Engineering in 2006.
On October 29, 2009, Fuxing Bridge was selected as "one hundred classic and excellent projects of new China".
