Lijiang murals cover a wide range of subjects, such as galloping horses, blooming lotus, mountains and fields, flowers, birds, grass and insects. These paintings clearly show the artist's keen observation ability and positive thoughts and feelings of entering the world. The religious figures depicted in the murals, with religion as the refraction, integrate the aesthetic ideas of the painters, and show the social life at that time either implicitly or in situ.
According to historical records, the murals in Lijiang, represented by dabaoji palace, were painted in succession over 300 years from the early Ming Dynasty to the Puli period.
