Jiashan Library
Jiashan library is located in Luoxing street, Jiashan, Zhejiang Province. In 1998, the library was rated as a national second-class library, and in 2004, it was rated as a national first-class library.
Library Characteristics
The ancient books of the county library are classified according to the four parts of the classics and history subset, and there are book and card catalogues. The new books are classified according to the Chinese library book classification, and there are card catalogues and machine-readable catalogues. It has a collection of 200000 books and more than 20000 ancient books.
The library has held knowledge lectures and self-study classes for many times to carry out reader service. In 1989, he and Shanghai Library jointly held a scientific and technological literature retrieval class. Since 2003, a "self-study activity center" has been set up in the library to provide special guidance for self-study examination and free borrowing of self-study examination teaching materials and guidance materials. The Local Literature Department of ancient books provides materials for the compilation of local chronicles, professional chronicles and toponyms in the county. The lending and reading department organizes books to serve the library. From 1998 to 2005, the library's acquisition and Cataloguing Department provided business guidance to 39 grassroots libraries (offices), helped to compile more than 150000 books, and donated nearly 5000 books.
In 2002, the library established an electronic reading room to provide readers with information retrieval, online information inquiry and other services. In May 2008, Jiashan County Government Information Disclosure Service point was set up to provide government information consultation, inquiry and other services.
In July 2019, it will be relocated to the new museum on Jiashan Avenue.

In April 1928, the Jiashan public popular library was set up in Town God's Temple with 2 staff members. In 1931, it was changed into a county library. In the spring of 1934, a private library was set up in Xitang town. In August, the county library set up a branch in Xitang. In November 1937, Jiashan was occupied by Japanese invaders, and 20000 books in the library were lost. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, the Preparatory Office of the county library was established and merged into the county public education center in May of the next year.
After the founding of new China, the county people's cultural center has a reading room. In June 1956, the county library was set up to work together with the cultural center. In 1985, the county library was established separately, with an area of 600 square meters, located at 53 Zhongshan Road. In 1996, the new museum, No. 57, Tan Gong North Road, was built and put into use, with an area of 3700 square meters. There are book lending department, newspaper reading department, editing technology department, electronic reading room, children's Library and ancient books (Local Literature) reading room and other business departments. At present, there are 15 staff members.
In 1956, when the county library was established, it had a collection of 11000 books, which has increased year by year since then. By 1990, the total number of collections was 118482, including 12692 ancient books. In the collection, there are nearly 400 kinds of more than 1000 volumes of local art and literature, genealogy and county annals of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China, which are of great historical value. For example, thirty six volumes of Jiashan County annals were revised in 1894 to record the county affairs in 464 years since Jiashan was established. In the sixth year of Qianlong (1741), Volume 15 of Wei Tang Shi Chen (compiled by Qing Qian Jia and Ding tingfei) was recorded in Tang and Song Dynasties and Yuan and Ming Dynasties. In the Qing Dynasty, four volumes of Cao Tingdong's family printed edition of Yi Zhun, five volumes of Lao Heng Yan, ten volumes of Yi Yu and Siku Quanshu are kept. In addition, the last thirty-one of the twenty-five volumes of the newly compiled collection of ancient and modern stories is a rare edition of Yuan Zhen. The ten volume of Yuyang Shan Ren essence is written in block printed by Kangxi Lin Chao.
