Introduction

Yulong Snow Mountain is one of the first batch of national 5A scenic spots in China, with an area of 415 square kilometers, the highest altitude of 5596 meters, and more than 20 kilometers away from the ancient city of Lijiang, the world cultural heritage.

Taking the closed ropeway, you can see the vertical distribution of plants in the snow mountain. Starting from the meadow at an altitude of 3000 meters, you can pass through all kinds of tall pines and fir trees. As the ropeway rises, the forest gradually goes away, and then there are shrubs and rhododendrons. When you reach an altitude of 4000 meters, you can only see the bryophytes attached to the rocks, and finally there is the vast snow. At the upper station of the cableway, walk out of the cableway station building and enter the Yulong Snow Mountain Glacier Park. Yulong Snow Mountain is the lowest latitude snow mountain with modern glacier distribution in Eurasia. In its eastern foothill, there are four phases of Pleistocene glacial action, which are distributed in the glacial park with a length of 15-16 kilometers and 4-5 kilometers wide. In such a region far away from the city, there is a glacial and glacial trace that is small but very diverse. It can be said to be the main essence of the global glaciers in the middle and low latitudes, which is very rare in China. It plays an important role in Glacier research, ecological environment protection, tourism and scientific research.

Snow mountain cableway

It's the starting point of the snow mountain cableway. It's a dense virgin forest. The altitude here is 3356 meters. The cableway runs up from here to the upper station just below the fan Douzhi, the main peak of the snow mountain. The altitude there is 4506 meters. The total length of the cableway is 2914m and the vertical height difference is 1150M. It is the highest tourist passenger ropeway in China. The cableway adopts 6-seat luxury detachable fully enclosed suspension box, which is safe and comfortable. Your journey from the vast forest at the lower station to the snowy at the upper station takes only half an hour, but you have the feeling of experiencing four seasons. The strong seasonal change, the difference between cold and warm, and the change of scenery will make you excited, because Yulong Snow Mountain is a very high mountain in subtropical Yunnan. From the valley at the foot of the mountain to the peak, there is a complete vertical natural landscape from subtropical zone, temperate zone to frigid zone, which you can experience in a very short time.

It is included in the ticket of Yulong Snow Mountain, but you need to take the cableway in the scenic area (the ticket price is 182 yuan, including 2 yuan insurance).

Safety tips

The temperature in this place is relatively low, so it is suggested that tourists should bring thick clothes. As for whether you need oxygen cylinders, it varies from person to person. Young people generally don't need them, but older tourists need to prepare them. For tourists from other places, it is worthwhile to take photos and play with snow here.

Charter a bus to Ganhaizi tourist center of Yulong Snow Mountain and transfer to a special bus to reach the lower part of the cableway station

Lijiang Red Sun Plaza do No.7 minibus (not belong to the public transport system, ask for the fee in advance), go to Ganhaizi tourist center and transfer to the special line bus to reach the lower station of the cableway.

Now because there are many people, they need to buy tickets in advance at the ticket center in the north of the school of tourism and culture of Yunnan University in the north of Lijiang City.

People with high blood pressure, heart disease and a bad cold can't get on the ropeway. If the altitude is too high, there will be life-threatening.

From 4506 meters above the Ropeway Station, you can walk to 4680 meters. There will be altitude reaction. You can do it according to your ability. You need to adjust your body and mind in advance because of high altitude hypoxia.

It's windy in spring and winter. Even if you buy a ticket, you may not be able to get on. Please be prepared in advance. Generally, it's better in the morning, but there are many people who will queue for a long time.
