Miao people's Valley is rich in history and culture. According to the textual research, Miaoren Valley is a typical seedling growing area in Fenghuang, which was once the ruling center of long Yunfei, the last king of Miao in Western Hunan. Miao nationality is one of the first great nations to develop COSCO and expand the south. It originated from "Jiuli" in the period of Yellow Emperor. It has been rough and tough since ancient times, advocating freedom and pursuing harmony. The history of Miao nationality is closely related to war, and the culture of Miao nationality is closely related to migration. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, in order to fight for living space, the Miao people have gone through 62 wars and five migrations. As a result, Miao people live in remote mountains like Miaoren valley. The Miao cultural symbols preserved in the Miao Valley, such as the Han Dynasty Miao village site, the former site of the bandit castle in the Miao Wangdong cave, and the ancient Miao village in zaogang, all witness the vicissitudes and tragedies of the history of the Miao people, and record the broadness and profundity of the Miao culture.
Miao people's Valley is full of ethnic customs. Miao people's Valley not only retains the oldest and last Miao village in Fenghuang, but also retains the most primitive and simple customs of Miao people in Fenghuang. The beautiful Miao costumes, the unique style of the gate wine, the unique style of the drum, the road blocking song, the side field, the traditional festival "April 8" of the moon dancing and the "June 6" of the folk song duet, the scene is grand and warm, full of poetic and picturesque, all reflect the Miao children's singing and dancing ability and enthusiasm. Among the three major mysteries in Western Hunan, corpse driving, poisonous insects releasing and cave falling are more mysterious.
Human history
After the Qing Dynasty Qianjia Miao people's uprising army was defeated, they hid here just by taking advantage of the unique mountain and river situation of the Miao people's Valley to separate one side. According to local conditions, they designed the layout of military attack, hiding, escaping and so on, which was easy to defend but difficult to attack, just like a labyrinth. After several months of encirclement and suppression, the Qing army was still unable to capture it. When they had no choice, they had to withdraw their troops back to Phoenix. Later, the bandits also took advantage of the unique mountain and river situation and the castle to dominate, which had high military research value and tourism value.
