Changli Temple

It has been built for more than 200 years and has been worshipped by local incense, The Hakkas in Taiwan are mainly divided into North Hakkas and South Hakkas. The North Hakkas are mainly distributed in the hilly areas of Northern Taiwan, such as Hsinchu, Taoyuan, Miaoli, while the South Hakkas are distributed in Kaohsiung and Pingtung. The South Hakkas are also known as Liudui. The so-called Liudui is actually six local armies of the early Hakkas, Its function is to protect the countryside and protect the people. It first protected itself in the fight between Fujian and Hakka caused by the Zhu Yigui incident in the Kangxi period. Later, it helped the army to pacify the Lin shuangwen incident in the Ganlong period. The final battle was after the Qing Dynasty ceded Taiwan in the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, when it fought against the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. The battle of huoshaozhuang took place in Pingtung, It was the last battle of the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. At that time, Liudui volunteers were bombarded by the Japanese with field artillery and killed the women and children of the village indiscriminately. Liudui volunteers suffered heavy losses. This shows the unity and bravery of the Hakkas. Neipu is the center of Liudui. The original Anti Japanese war against Japan was determined after the meeting between Neipu Tianhou palace and Changli temple
