The origin of history

Luonan Confucian temple is located in the West Street of Luonan County, Shaanxi Province. It has a long history and is magnificent. It is a temple dedicated to Confucius, a great thinker and educator in the spring and Autumn period.

According to the local records, Luonan Confucian temple was built in 1370 A.D., 14 years earlier than the bell tower in Xi'an. Now it covers an area of 3115 square meters. It is the most complete longitudinal axis type ancient building complex in the urban area. In 1983, it was announced as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit by Shaanxi Provincial People's government.

For more than six centuries, it has been the center of politics, culture, education, undertakings and activities of the county. Now it is the seat of the County Museum, with more than 3400 precious cultural relics in its collection.

architectural style

Luonan Confucian temple, also known as Confucius Temple, was built in the third year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. It is one of the most complete ancient buildings in Northwest China. Luonan Confucian temple is magnificent, simple and heavy. The main hall and the podium are carved with beams and painted buildings. Under the warm sunshine, the whole building is brilliant.

The whole building of the Confucian temple is one. The palace wall includes three courtyards: the back courtyard, the middle courtyard and the front courtyard. The back courtyard is Dacheng hall, the front of the hall is platform, and there are seven East and West chambers on both sides. In the middle courtyard, there are three chaomen, named Yueliang gate on both sides. In the middle courtyard is panchi, on which two stone bridges are erected, and railings are erected on both sides. In the East, there are official temples and Zunjing Pavilion; in the west, there are Xiangxian temples and Zhongyi temples. In the front yard is a wooden archway, which is called "Lingxing gate"; in the East, it opens "Qifeng gate", which is also called "Dongli gate"; in the west, it opens "Teng mosquito gate", which is also called "Xili gate". The outermost street is Zhaobi, 9.2 meters long, 0.82 meters thick and 7.3 meters high. The inner wall is inlaid with "fish and dragon changing", and the outer wall is inlaid with "two dragons playing with pearls"

Magnificent momentum

The Confucian temple is a magnificent building, with flower ridges and cornices on it. There are resplendent, painted pillars and carved beams. Its magnificent buildings are mainly Dacheng hall and Lingxing gate.

Layout structure

Dacheng hall has seven bright rooms and five dark rooms, with a single eaves resting on the top of the mountain. It is 14.85 meters wide and 11 meters deep. It is composed of three parts: abutment, roof truss and roof. Five bay size, surrounded by bright pillars, corner pillars, pillars, a total of 28. The eaves and walls separate the inside and outside, the roof is lined with five ridges, the dragon is hidden in the flowers, the ridge head is like a tower, and the orange glazed tiles on the roof are shining with golden light. The four corner columns are a little higher, and they are erected layer by layer. The bucket arches protruding layer by layer are "tilted" and flying in the air. The shape is round and solid, which not only makes the structure of beams, columns and beams compact, but also increases the stability of the building, and makes the whole Dacheng hall open, restrained and majestic.

The front platform is 15.2 meters long and 8.1 meters wide, with an area of 113.1 square meters. In the middle of the inclined steps, there are carved pan Xiang Feng, which is extremely gorgeous. The archway (tower gate) stands in the middle of the front yard, which is the essence of ancient architecture in southern Shaanxi. The gate is about 25.2 meters high, 4.95 meters deep and 17.6 meters wide, covering an area of 89 square meters. Four columns and three floors, 8.4 meters high, 52 cm high, three floors up and down (three building heads), the main building is the most prominent; the ridge head is covered with cloud pots, with a thick and generous shape.

Mutual benefit

The second floor on the left and right is inferior to the main one, in the shape of Pinzi, with brick walls on both sides. In the whole spleen building, there are six animals with flower ridges on it. They are colorful and magnificent. The yellow and green glazed tiles are shining in the sun. Under the eaves, there are layers of brackets to form the angle. The eaves teeth are high pecking. The flowers and birds are lifelike and dazzling. The eight stone drums, which belong to the four pillars, only depend on the pillar roots.

There are four pairs of stone lions at the root of the eight pillars, two pairs of big round faces in the middle, standing inside and outside, majestic, and two pairs of small Lingxi, vivid. On the big plaque, there are three big characters of "lingxingmen", which are made of gold, glittering, forming a solemn and magnificent ancient scenery.

After the reform and opening up, the cultural center moved out of office, and Luonan Confucian temple opened to the outside world as a museum. For some special renovation of the screen wall, Dacheng hall, halberd gate, etc., rebuilt the East and west wing. Now Luonan Confucian temple is not prosperous, but simple, with strong cultural atmosphere, thick and atmosphere coexisting. Now there are two exhibition rooms in the museum, which pay equal attention to calligraphy, painting and archaeology. There are more than 7000 cultural relics unearthed from Luonan ape man and huashilang, and 28 rubbings of Cangjie's characters.
