Around 1200 A.D., according to the will of juewa Jiuding sanggong, the founder of Zhigong Gaju sect of Tibetan Buddhism, gaer temple was founded here by the famous eminent monk gardang baqiudeng.
Ga'er temple has many cultural relics, such as the famous Sutra wheel kanama, a footprint on the stone of Qingmei duojie, the natural statue of lianhuasheng, the old Thangka and self warming up trace.
structure
Gaer temple is located on a high mountain with an altitude of more than 3700 meters, which is divided into upper temple and lower temple. The north side of the mountain is full of strange peaks and cliffs, with chilly wind, but the south side is slightly sloping, warm and sunny. Hundreds of buildings of gaer temple are irregularly distributed on the south side of the mountain, from the bottom to the top of the mountain.
Historical evolution
Before 1960, there was a young monk here. His name was gong Qujiang CAI. He could eat Zanba, draw water, sleep on cowhide felt and read Tibetan classics under butter lamp.
Gong Qujiang, a monk, later became the king of the Tibetan religion and the spiritual leader of the Bai religion, which is one of the eight factions of the Tibetan religion.
Gongqu jiangcai was born in gaer temple.
He is the Dharma king of Tibetan religion and the 18th of the 100 living Buddhas.
Gaer temple has a history of nearly 1000 years. It is said that master lianhuasheng practiced in this town more than 700 years ago. The treasure of zhensi temple is a pair of unique Sutra wheels. It is said that Princess Wencheng brought a dowry when she went to Tibet to marry Songzanganbu. During this long period of time, the two Sutra wheels placed in the upper Temple of Ga'er temple were on duty day and night by lamas. The ever-changing wheel of the Sutra, accompanied by the Tibetan people in the depths of the plateau through the wind and rain for thousands of years.
In January 1979, the restoration of the monastery began under the leadership of the eighth kartyuenidan bunima.
The temple was closed in 1958 and reopened in 1982 with the approval of the government. There are 170 monks in the temple.
There were three original living Buddhas, two of which were approved by the government, and one of them was identified by the government. One of them was a living Buddha in bed before 1958, which was approved by the government.
scenery
The peaks around Ga'er temple are in various shapes, some like balls, some like pillars, some like doors, some like walls, and some like rocks, like all kinds of animals. On the top of the mountain, there are few trees on the whole. It's amazing to meet a few occasionally. These weathered pine and cypress trees are unique in shape, graceful in posture, vigorous in branches and leaves, and strong in character. They survive tenaciously in the narrow crevices of strange stones, fully demonstrating the beauty of life in nature. There are more colorful prayer flags flying in the wind, all over the mountain, winding everywhere, one after another, until the top of the mountain. Looking around from the upper Temple of Ga'er temple, you can see that the mountains are getting lower, ten thousand trees are far away, the road is like a snake dance, the room is like a box, the water is like a mirror, the clouds are like smoke, and you can feel it in person. There is a Tianchi Lake at the foot of Ga'er temple, with a total area of about 8000 square meters and a deepest depth of about 30 meters. It is a very exquisite Alpine pocket lake.
The geographical location of gaer temple is relatively remote, with only about 10 families around. Apart from monks, other people seldom come here. Gaer temple has three living Buddhas. Because the monks in the temple have always pursued the idea of great compassion and equality of life advocated by Buddhism, they have been living in harmony with animals in the mountain for many years and never killed. There are many kinds of higher animals such as macaque, stone sheep, roe deer, yellow sheep, sika deer, elk, fox, wolf, snow leopard and nearly 100 kinds of birds such as snow chicken, pheasant, golden pheasant, eagle, vulture and owl.
Over time, monks and animals in the mountains have become friends. Some animals, such as macaques and rock sheep, often freely go in and out of the temple and have close contact with monks. This is a model of harmony between man and nature, and also a unique natural landscape of gaer temple.
