Shanghai Xincheng Central Park
It took nearly a year to complete the construction and opened in December 1999. The park covers an area of 4.3 hectares (about 65 mu). The total investment of the project is 45 million yuan, including 30 million yuan for land and 15 million yuan for civil engineering, garden and landscaping. As one of the practical projects in Minhang District in 1999, Shanghai Xincheng Central Park was jointly designed by Shanghai Landscape Design Institute and Jiaotong University landscape design and Research Institute.

About the park
Its garden style integrates foreign regular gardens and Chinese modern gardens, embodies the unity of natural scenery and artificial landscape, and provides citizens with leisure places that can be visited, entertained, retained and enjoyed.
Park layout
The layout of the whole park can be summarized as "two axes and one center". The east-west axis, modern axis, is composed of Jushi square, landmark dry fountain, Four Seasons flower garden, European style colonnade and sun square; the north-south axis, historical axis, is composed of forest trestle road and French strong pruning gantry green corridor, and the two axes meet at the municipal square. The green square is full of flowers, sparse forest and grassland, sunny canopy, beach beside water stage, waterfall at source, fountain and jade belt lying in Qingshui lake. Xincheng Central Park strives to show the dynamic, free and progressive urban landscape of Shanghai Xincheng at the turn of the century, and indicates the bright future of Shanghai Xincheng in the new century.
