Mingyue Mountain

Mingyue Mountain is located 15 kilometers southwest of Yuanzhou District, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, with an area of 136 square kilometers.

Mingyue Mountain is composed of 12 peaks with an altitude of more than 1000 meters. Taiping mountain, the main peak, is 1736 meters above sea level. It has subtropical humid monsoon climate. It has Taxus chinensis, Manglietia chinensis and other plants, Se rich hot springs in warm soup and other resources. It also has star moon cave, Moon Lake, cloud Valley waterfall, Qingyun stack Road and other scenic spots. Mingyue Mountain is a mountain type scenic spot integrating ecological tour, leisure vacation, popular science education and religious tourism, which is mainly characterized by its unique peaks and valleys, hot springs and waterfalls, rare animals and plants and Zen culture.

In December 2010, Mingyueshan Wentang town was listed as one of the first hot spring towns in China.

On October 15, 2015, Mingyue Mountain tourist area was approved as a national 5A tourist attraction.

In 2018, Mingyueshan Wentang tourist resort was rated as a national tourist resort.

Historical evolution

Evolution of organizational system

In March 1985, with the approval of the State Council, Yichun county was abolished, and all the townships and towns under its jurisdiction were included in Yichun city. Wentang town and Hongjiang township of Mingyueshan hot spring scenic spot are under the jurisdiction of Yichun city.

In June 2000, Yichun district and county level Yichun City were abolished, and prefecture level Yichun city was established. In Yichun City, Yuanzhou district was established. In August of the same year, Yuanzhou District People's government was officially established. Wentang town and Hongjiang township of Mingyueshan hot spring scenic spot are under the jurisdiction of Yuanzhou district.

In May 2000, the Administration Bureau of Mingyueshan scenic spot was established in Yichun City (county level), which is responsible for the development, construction and operation of the scenic spot.

In November 2001, Yichun Municipal government appointed the Administration Bureau of Mingyueshan scenic spot as the deputy county level, entrusted Yuanzhou District to manage the construction, management and marketing of Mingyueshan core scenic spot.

In 2017, Mingyueshan Songcheng mingyueqiangu scene area project was officially signed. The project is located in the east of Wentan road and the south of Taipingshan road in Wentang tourist resort. There are three cultural performance squares, including tourist center and parking lot, theme street, characteristic atmosphere street, cultural performance square, moon landscape lake, mingyueqiangu theater and comprehensive supporting facilities, It covers an area of 1000 square meters.

On December 28, 2018, Mingyue Mountain Songcheng Mingyue eternal scene area opened.

Mingyueshan hot spring scenic spot has jurisdiction over Wentang Town, Hongjiang Town, 22 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee. Among them, Wentang town governs 12 administrative villages including tanxia, Tianxin, Liufang, Pengfang, Shebu, Wentang, Xieping, Xiangong, Xiagong, junbei, CHANGKENG and Dabu, and the neighborhood committee of Wenquan community. Hongjiang town has 10 village committees, including Hongjiang, Jiangqiao, Meizhou, Dongnan, gumiao, Yangfeng, nianping, Tangxi, Buxing and Tangjiashan. There are 297 villager groups.

Mingyue Mountain is located in the northern part of Luoxiao mountain range on the border of Hunan and Jiangxi, 15 kilometers southwest of Yichun City Center. It is 230 kilometers away from Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, 250 kilometers away from Changsha and 533 kilometers away from Wuhan.

Climatic characteristics

Mingyue Mountain is a subtropical humid monsoon climate with peculiar mountains and waters and mild climate. The annual average temperature is about 12 ℃ - 15 ℃, and the annual average precipitation is 1800 mm - 2000 mm. Adapt to the growth of various animals and plants, known as the "natural zoo", "plant kingdom". The original scenery is well protected, the vegetation is luxuriant, the air anion content is as high as more than 70000 per cubic centimeter, which is 35 times of the national standard, and can be called "natural oxygen bar".

Mingyue Mountain belongs to Wugong mountain range, which is mainly composed of twelve peaks with an elevation of more than 1000 meters, such as Taiping mountain, Yujing mountain, Laoshan Mountain and Yangshan mountain. The main peak is Taiping mountain, 1735.6 meters above sea level.

Mingyue Mountain is rich in wildlife resources, belonging to the national level I and II protected wildlife, including 32 species, such as yellow bellied Tragopan, white necked long tailed pheasant, clouded leopard, golden cat, big Ling cat, little Ling cat, pangolin, etc. Birds include hawks, owls, wild birds, bamboo chickens, egrets, Thrushes, turtledoves, cuckoos, woodpeckers, etc.; amphibians include frogs, stone frogs and giant salamanders, etc.

There are more than 1100 kinds of plants belonging to 62 families in Mingyue Mountain, among which there are more than 300 kinds of arbor species, belonging to 13 species of national class I and II protected tree species. There are 667 hectares of continuous and vigorous pure forest of Pinus taiwanensis. Mingyue Mountain is known as the "natural animal and Botanical Garden". There are not only medicinal materials such as rock ginseng and stone fungus, but also flowers and trees named after Mingyue Mountain, such as red camellia, Rhododendron, Manglietia and Manglietia decidua, and trees such as pine, bamboo, cypress, camphor, fir, ginkgo, silver magpie and Cyclocarya paliurus. Among them, Taxus chinensis var. mairei, which originated 230 million years ago, is rich in paclitaxel Rare plants.

Radon selenium hot spring

The hot springs containing selenium and radon are distributed in Wentang and Hongjiang, respectively. Wentang se rich hot spring has a history of more than 2000 years. It is distributed in the area of 8 square kilometers of Wentang town at the foot of Mingyue Mountain, with a daily water yield of 13000 tons. The water temperature is maintained at 68 ℃ - 72 ℃ throughout the year. It is colorless and tasteless. It can be drunk and bathed without sulfur. It contains more than 20 trace elements, especially selenium. The annual water temperature of Hongjiang radon hot spring is 50 ℃, and the daily water output is 1800 tons.

Regional transportation

The transportation outside Mingyue Mountain area is convenient and comfortable, and the choice of transportation mode is various. From Yichun city center along the two-way 8-lane Mingyue Avenue, it takes 15 minutes to reach Wentang resort. Shanghai Kunming high-speed railway passes through the area. From Yichun high-speed railway station, along Yichun South Road and Mingyue Avenue, Wentang resort can be reached within 30 minutes. Shanghai Kunming and Daguang expressways crisscross, within 0.25 hours from the exit of Mingyueshan hub and Yichun west exit of Shanghai Kunming expressway. Yichun Mingyueshan airport has opened 16 flights in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Kunming, Chengdu, Xiamen, Xi'an, Sanya, Guangzhou and Qingdao. The flight from Beijing to Yichun is about 3 hours.

In addition to the diplomatic links in the District, the traffic in the district is also very convenient and comfortable. Since 2016, 126 kilometers of tourist roads have been newly (reconstructed) built, and buses from Yichun central city to Wentang have been opened, including No. 115, 116, 118 and night shift line 3. There are No. 112 A and No. 112 B buses in the area, and 28 tourist battery cars have been provided in the core scenic spot of Mingyue Mountain. In the main traffic area of Wentang Town, 21 bike sharing outlets are equipped with 230 bike sharing vehicles.
