The first Beipan River Bridge, formerly known as nizhu river bridge or Beipan River Bridge, is a super large bridge connecting Puli Township, Xuanwei City, Qujing City, Yunnan Province and DuGe Town, Shuicheng County, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province in China. It is located on the nizhu River and is a part of Hang Rui high-speed highway.

The first bridge of Beipanjiang River starts from DuGe town in the north, crosses nizhu River Grand Canyon in the north, and ends at Lalong village in the south;

Construction process
In 2012, the Ministry of communications of China set up the scientific research project of Beipanjiang bridge (the first bridge of Beipanjiang River). Guizhou Expressway Group Co., Ltd. cooperated with CCCC highway planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd., Southwest Jiaotong University, Guizhou Highway Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and CCCC second Aviation Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. to undertake the construction project of Western transportation.
In 2013, the construction of the first bridge of Beipanjiang river was started, which was jointly constructed by Yunnan and Guizhou provinces.
On September 10, 2016, the first bridge of Beipanjiang river was closed.
On December 29, 2016, the first bridge of Beipanjiang river was completed and opened to traffic.
In 2017, "Research on Key Technologies of construction and maintenance management of Beipanjiang long span steel truss cable stayed bridge" passed the acceptance.
Bridge location
The first bridge of Beipanjiang river is located on the nizhu river at the junction of Yunnan Province and Guizhou Province in China. It is connected with DuGe town of Shuicheng County in the East and Puli township of Xuanwei City of Qujing City in the West;
The bridge is an integral part of Hangzhou Ruizhou Expressway < I (National Expressway g56) < / I.
Architectural design

The main bridge of the first Beipanjiang bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with double pylons and double cable planes. The main girder is a steel truss structure system composed of steel truss and orthotropic steel deck, and the main truss is a Platte structure. The weight of dead load and live load of main span and side span is balanced by the way of pouring concrete into concrete inspection road and main truss chord. The upper end of the stay cable is anchored to the steel anchor beam in the upper tower column, and the lower end is anchored to the steel anchor box of the upper chord of the main truss. H-shaped reinforced concrete structure is adopted for the bridge tower. The foundation of bridge tower adopts group pile foundation.

The first bridge of Beipanjiang River belongs to part of Hang Rui expressway. The single trip fee of small passenger car from Puli toll station to DuGe toll station is 20 yuan.

Technical problems
The first bridge of Beipanjiang River Bridge is located in the deep mountain area on the boundary of the plateau. It crosses the "U" shaped Grand Canyon of Beipanjiang river with a depth of 600 meters. The terrain is very steep and the geological conditions are very complex.
The frequent occurrence of local geological disasters, wind, fog, rain, freezing and other harsh natural climate environment, bring severe test to the structural safety and operation of large bridges under the conditions of wind and freezing rain.
During the construction, the construction unit, in accordance with the development concept of "Colorful Guizhou, the most beautiful expressway", has always adhered to the minimum damage and maximum protection in the whole process of design, construction and operation, so as to achieve the construction goal of low cost, low pollution and low energy consumption. By carrying out the centralized drainage of the bridge, the main bridge side span pushing construction and the application of 500 MPa high-strength steel bar, the impact of bridge deck sewage on the soil and water system is minimized, the occupation of land resources is greatly reduced, and the steel bar binding on site is simplified to facilitate the construction, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving, consumption reduction, emission reduction and sustainable development.
"Smart" concrete
During the construction of the first bridge of Beipanjiang River, we developed a kind of "intelligent" concrete, named "machine-made sand self compacting concrete", which can automatically flow and evenly fill the space in the mold, ensuring the quality and saving the construction cost.
"Physical examination" cloud computing
The designers of the first bridge of Beipanjiang river use cloud technology to develop and establish a bridge management and maintenance integrated information platform integrating "construction, management and maintenance". Through the sensors installed on the bridge, the data of the bridge tower and bridge deck are transmitted to the bridge foundation information cloud and the bridge monitoring and maintenance information cloud, and then the analysis and decision cloud analyzes the data previously transmitted, and sends the data to the managers' mobile phones and tablets.
Scientific research achievements
Guizhou highway group, the participant of the first Beipanjiang bridge, has applied for 13 patents, 3 construction methods, 2 sets of technical guidelines and 6 software copyrights in combination with the bridge construction technology.
During the construction of Beipanjiang No.1 Bridge, the scientific research project of the Ministry of transportation of China has been completed, which provides a new construction technology and method for the erection of large-span steel truss cable-stayed bridge in mountainous areas. It has the international leading level of new construction technology of longitudinal displacement and cantilever assembly, and has applied for 4 invention patents and 7 utility model patents.

In 2018, the first bridge of Beipanjiang River won the "Nobel Prize" - Gustav gold prize at the 35th International Bridge Conference.

Certified by Guinness World Records Co., Ltd., the first bridge of Beipanjiang river was named "the highest bridge in the world" and entered into the history of world records.
