Shimenshan National Forest Park
Shimen mountain is located 25 kilometers northeast of Qufu City, formerly known as Longmen Mountain. Because there are two peaks facing each other, it looks like Shimen, so it is named. Shenghan peak on the right is the main peak of the whole mountain, 406 meters above sea level. There are 24 scenic spots, such as Shuixue cave and Panlong cave, especially Shimen Yueji. On the mountain are the places where Confucius studied Yi, Zilu stayed at Shimen, LiBai, Dufu and Yanji.
Development history
Shimen temple is the only temple in Qufu, located in the shadow of shenghanfeng mountain. Quanzhen temple was established in the song and Yuan Dynasties. It was owned by the monks in the seventh year of Jingtai (1056) of the Ming Dynasty and was renamed Wuquan temple. Later, it was renamed Shimen Temple according to the mountain name. There are several two-story pavilions in the front and back of the temple, and dozens of rooms in the West. All of them were built in the period of the Republic of China. Today, the temple has been abandoned, and the site still exists. In the northwest of Shimen temple, Li Xu is the seclusion place of Kong Shangren, and the relics still exist. Kong Shangren, also known as Ji Zhong, is called Dongtang, another name is Antang. He calls himself a man from Yunting mountain, and is the 64 generation grandson of Confucius. Thirty five years ago, he lived in seclusion in Shimen and built three thatched cottages, named "Guyun thatched cottage". Later, he was appreciated by Kangxi and entered the officialdom. After his dismissal, he returned to Shimen mountain until his death. Near Shimen mountain, 15 kilometers away from the city, there is Shimen academy, one of the four old academies in Qufu. It used to be a hall of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. In 1775, it was moved to the northeast corner of the temple and built a main hall at the original site. It was dedicated to the statue of the supreme sage and the master and offered sacrifices in the spring and Autumn period.
